Hi all,
I am just about to take the plunge and buy my first Festool, just had to stop myself pushing the button to check. I am looking to buy the TS55R with Midi extractor. One of the TS55R's main jobs will be trimming 44mm Fire doors. The Festool literature states that the TS55R has a cutting depth of 55mm, so it should have no problem trimming the doors. However i did read somewhere (can't remember where) that the guide rail raises the saw off the material to be cut, so you won't get 55mm depth of cut and thus it won't cut a 44mm door in one go. Is this some internet scare mongering?
Surely Festool took the guide rail into consideration when publishing the specs but i don't want to spend a lot of money on a saw that won't be able to do one of it's main jobs. Had a search on here and google but can't find anything definite.
Could anybody confirm if the TS55R will trim 44mm fire doors whilst on the guide rail?
Thanks Ben.
