See if they will swap the two FS-1400/2 rails for two FS-1400/2-LR32 rails. The cost difference is negligible, but the functionality should you ever (or, more likely, when you) buy a Festool router and the LR32 kit is immense.
I paid £27 more to swap mine; well worth it.

What does the LR32 system give me? Had a look on the Festool site and couldn't see anything? Gary i see that you're just up the road and you are going to cosy me a lot of money  [unsure]

It won't give you anything at the moment, but the FS 1400/2-LR32 rails are functionally equivalent to the FS 1400/2 rails *except* they have a series of holes in them at 32mm spacing along their length. This is used with the LR32 kit and a suitable router to put holes in cabinet sides for drawer runners, shelving, hinges etc., among a larger number of increasingly clever ways of using the kit for things it was never intended for.

There are some great videos on Youtube that explain things in detail from one of the FOG members. Check out for the introduction - think there are currently six in the series of videos and more to come. They are really excellent videos.

No problem.

Don't want to spend more of your money, but you should get the Universal and maybe the Panther blades when you buy the saw. Tools4Trade have about the best prices for these at the moment - bought some myself last week! Universal at £27.00 incl VAT and Panther at £23.00 incl VAT.

I can see that you're a Festool junkie and you are trying to get me addicted to your habit to make you feel more normal ha ha !!

I see that they market the TS55R as being able to cut plasterboard. This could be very useful to me, anybody know which blade should be used for this?

A cheap one!

Plasterboard is very soft, but abrasive. Pretty much anything spinning will cut through it, but it will probably wreck a decent blade fairly quickly. By that I mean the blade will be useless for anything else but, blunt or not, it will still cut the plasterboard. I really don't recommend trying it, but I'd bet you could put a blade in backwards & it'd still cut plasterboard!

I cut plasterboard with a Stanley knife that doesn't travel at high speed at the mo. I know the TS55R is very tempermental when it comes to blades, so was wondering if they had a blade for plasterboard as the Festool website isn't the best for finding things.
If the TS55R would cut plasterboard as neat and straight as wood and it wouldn't damage the saw, i wouldn't mind dedicating a blade to that job.

No, Festool doesn't have a blade specifically for plasterboard.

I haven't used my TS55 for plasterboard, but I have thought about it. Also for cement board in showers, as that tends to break apart & leave rough edges however you cut it by hand. Again though, I guess that wouldn't do the blade much good.
