I'm using a 230v saw (and extractor
)

promhandicam said:A timely post as I've been cutting a lot of oak veneered mdf with my TS55R this last week to make these
....
and have been getting shocks as the OP described. The saw is plugged into my CTL22 with antistatic hose and is exactly the same setup as I had with my old TS55 so I doubt very much it is static. Will be interested to hear what reply you get from Festool on this before I contact Warren.

Is everyone cutting oak veneered MDF this week? - I am.
Those oak book shelves look pretty good - are the shelves MDF and if so what width are they?
I have had veneered MDF deform with the weight of books and now keep the shelf lengths quite short or use a two sided shelf with longitudinal ribs for stiffness.

Captain caberdwck said:An update here guys I got a saw on loan from my supplier while my own saw was sent to festool the loan saw gives no shocks from either rail or saw in exact same working conditions.i got a call today saying a part has been ordered from Germany to fix my saw and it should be back in a couple of daysglad it's getting fixed
Captain caberdwck said:Back on again guys got the saw back in October and its been great but last week it started happening again got the festool rep coming to site to see it in action. Went out and bought a ctl midi and it still does it with extractor attached. It doesn't shock you when saw runs on its own or from running the saw along the rails with the saw not spinning only when cutting mdf boards ??? Will let you all know what's said by the rep
Cheers
