TSO Square and Parallel Guide consistently 2/3mm out from one end

Morning,

It is really odd, as both rails have never left my garage and have been kept in the protective bag and well looked after.

I can only think I bought them damaged, I would have taken them back, but its been 6 months.

I bought them from Toucan Tools who are generally good with returns, but this would probably be a stretch to far.

Glad it's sorted, but now I'm intrigued.  So both Festool rails are somehow deformed on the extrusion part?

BTW, are you doing line strikes on the combis by themselves to test their accuracy?

Also, didn't do any line strikes or anything else. It was a new Bhaco square, so a decent brand which I had complete faith in.

So I wanted to provide a bit more feedback on the system and some information that may help others in the future.

I have been using the system now for a few months and had the chance to build wardrobes, cabinets etc.

I actually love the system now, and always get a grin on my face after measuring a cut, the accuracy is brilliant.

There is 100% a learning curve with this system, for hobbyist and for pro's (from talking to a few people about this), however that learning is worth it.

I ended up going the long way with my learning curve and really did feel disheartened after a lot of time spent on the system.

So here are some tips from my own experience, gained from a lot of time using the system.

1: Never assume your rails are not out, even if they are Festool and brand new!

2: Never Assume your square is square, even if it is a reputable brand and fairly new!

The chances of this happening at the same time are very slim, however it did happen to me!

There are ways to check, which can be found in this post and also by contacting the TSO customer services.

Now I have used the system, and fully understand it, I can say that any errors will more than likely be the user.

I now own the full parallel guide system, and I have also purchased the adapter.

Along with my MFT table, and now CSC50, this is a dream set up and works so well.

The only issue I have is I lost one of the star screw, so struggling with keeping the second square or adapter completely aligned.

Does anyone know where I can get one in the UK?

Thanks
