So, I'm thinking that the best thing to do would be to rip out the tub and surround (a one-piece fiberglass affair) so that I can really clean out the mess left by the previous tenants and see if I can figure out how they got in. As a result, I have a few questions:
- Am I right in thinking that I want a "direct to stud" surround?
- Does the surround have to come from the same maker as the tub? Or is it a good idea for it to?
- What should I be looking for as I shop for a tub & surround?
- Suggestions for brands to prefer (or avoid)?
