UG-Set compatibility

I am changing the way I work, going to all cordless out on site (mainly Makita as I have been using their LXT battery system for more than 12 years), but when it comes to cordless mitre saws I am seriously considering the Kapex KSC60 mitre saw. I already have a KS120, which will in future be based in the workshop on a static base, with longer extension arms and more flip stops. That should leave me with a spare UG-Set and extensions. So the question is, can my KS120 UG-Set be used or readily converted to be ysed with a KSC60? This is a serious question as these mobile bases aren't cheap and being able to re-use a 500 plus base system is quite attractive

Yes, you only need these:
The base for KS 60
New measuring tapes for the UG wings. The wings are the same, they differ on the tapes applied to the wings. (Yours probably says KS 120 on the sticker)

Thank you! My local Festool dealer implied that they weren't compatible and that I'd have to buy a complete set (at circa £700 or so), which to me really is a deal breaker. A UG-AD-KS 60 at about £110 plus a couple of tapes is a lot more palatable

I had the exact same question about the wings. Is this confirmed that they are the same?

I'm in the same boat. I have the full KS120 set up. I've had the KSC60 in the US for 2 weeks now and love it. Ordered the adapter plate to mount it on my stand. I purchased new extension wings from my dealer because they are labeled for KS60, unfortunately they are Metric, and I'm familiar with Imperial. Its unclear if they are compatible KSC60 to KS120. I'll find out for sure once I receive the adapter plate and try fitting the new extension wings vs my old ones for the KS120 that are imperial.

So you are liking it so far. I’m sort of circling back on it as I’ve got some room in my budget and could potentially use a cordless mitre saw. What sort of tasks can it handle? I’m assuming if you are installing moulding the 120 is much better but I’ve been thinking it could be ok if doing small cabinetry jobs or installing flooring where portability is king and it would be nice if it integrated with the festool vacs I own

Yes, I do like it alot so far. Plenty of power, and accuracy. I dont forsee it being unable to handle 90% of my moulding installs. I havent done a 8" tall crown in 10 years, but if I needed to I can cut it flat on this KSC60 no problem.

I can confirm now that the KS120 Wing extension tape measures do NOT work on the KSC60. And only metric is currently available for the KSC60. So I guess I'll be using metric for the time being untill I get some new tapes for it.

Love the set up though.
