Hi all I thought I would share this with you if you were considering ordering anything of any value from Webster power tools

below is a picture of my new df 700 domino I received it this afternoon it was covered in just a few layers of pallet wrap

the systainer looks a real mess.so if you like to keep your tools tidy buy them elsewhere

I did email them but have had no response as of yet

thats a discrace.
not even in a box.

i bought some stuff a while back from the uk. cant remember which order it was
i got the stuff wraped in fam like floor underlay , box filled up with 4"x2" air bubles , box wraped in about 30 yards of buble wrap then put into a 2nd box . then taped up with a really strong tape

That's bad , you think it would've at least come in the cardboard that they come from festool in. Surprised you didn't use slingers I thought you used them. I got my df500 from warren at toolfest but I collected it.

Did you get a free domino systainer.with it ?

When the courier arrived with it I could not beleive my eyes
I do use singers for most of my festool's they do pack stuff well.I have been on the edge of buying one for ages,I did miss the special offer as I have been realy poorly for weeks and peter was not around.

and had a look at their site when they posted about their ts75 off on here last week....... should have gone to slingers lol

I did see a few people still doing the free Dom sys even though it was supposed to finish at the end of December.

Was the sys damaged? It's hard to tell from the pics. They must suppose were just gonna kick the box in a van anyway.

Its just scuffed/scratched and dirty where its been sliding around half way around the country

Yeh - apply the one strike and out policy - that's just plain careless.

i would email them  and say how apauled you are with their carlessness.
ask for a new systainer .
tell them that its their last chance to keep you as a customer.

I received my MFT from a UK company and the box was full of their packing room rubbish. The MFT was a little scratched and had clearly been on display or even demonstrated. There were not enough faults to warrant finding a way to repack it (the outer box was a mess - covered in oil) and so I said nothing. I had an article to write and I could not waste my time.

Needless to say I have not, and never will, deal with them again. I will not mention their name because at no stage did I give them the chance to put things right. They know who they are and I hope they now have better standards.

It is crushing when something you have bought arrives in poor shape, especially when you have researched, sweated, and parted with your hard earned cash and when its been damaged in transit its just such a waste of time and energy just so pointless.

You have to respect the tools and the people you are selling them to if thats not the case, as it would appear from your mft puchase the seller

should go do something else [big grin]

Yes, I have since bought my tools from either Axminster or Toolfest - both are excellent and very reliable.

I had a email from Jack (sales manager)at Websters power tools the morning after my email to them expressing my dissatisfaction

I was told that they take great pride in the packing and  dispatch of customers orders and the problem

with my item was an exeption due to a new member of staff in the packing dept.

I was offered a new systainer or a accessory to compliment the domino.....that arrived today and was well packed.

so although I did have a problem it was resolved both courteously and in a timely fashion

Thank you Jack

festool uk returned my cxs after repair with nothing but 2 nylon packing straps to keep the lid from opening and a massive sticker stuck to the top, the systainer was dirty and the sticker ripped and is all stuck to the top!

I have been trying to get to see "in the flesh" a Domino DF500 and CTL Midi through my local dealer which he quoted me for. Firstly he did not have the Domino on display (saying they were not good sellers)and said he would see if he could get an existing client to bring his in for me to look at. After waiting almost a month I contacted him again only to be told he had forgotten all about it.
He then said the local rep was coming in to him the following Tuesday and he would email me on the Monday with the time he would be in.That was last Monday and have heard nothing so I gave up.
The following day I checked on ebay and found a good price from a London dealer,5 hours way from me.I emailed them 3 times with different questions all of which were replied to within hours.I finally order the items I wanted ( over £200.00 cheaper including delivery than the original dealers price) and they were delivered the next morning, all very well packed and undamaged in any way.Excellent prices and service.
Just shows how service and value vary between dealers.
