I may not be in the right category but a lot of guys have posted here about how they organize their tools to work more efficiently. Well this is not a Ron Paulk or Tim inspired design but it does the job for its user.

My dad is 87 and if he ever realized how much I spend on Festool he would kick my, well you know. He is old school and cheap. He taught me so much about working with tools over the years. I could go on for hours about it but I don't want to bore you.

At 87 his arthritis is bad and he can't get around much some days he can barely walk and he certainly can't work on projects like he used to but he hasn't stopped yet. I was over at his house the other day when I spied this contraption he put together to help him work around the house. He may be old and slow and in a lot of pain but he is not going to go down without a fight.

This is one tuff old dude and I say that with all the love and respect I have.

My Dad's been gone for a while, UncleJoe.  That made me misty...

What a cool story! And I see an M12 drill in there - good for him!

[thumbs up]

That will be me in 40 years, great for all those house hold jobs like oiling hinges and adjusting door latches.

Brought a smile to my face!

My dad passed a few years ago but he was a retired carpenter and the older he got the more clever stuff he thought up, then he often went dumpster diving and built it for zero $$.

Thanks for sharing.

Reminded me of my dad when he was living.  Frugal.  Determined.  Independent.  Inventive.

Perfect!  Thanks for sharing that.

I'm going to order all the parts for that tomorrow so I will be ready 25 years from now.

Reminds me of my oldest brother, who at 85, built all the cabinets, did the crown and all the trim in my nephew's house.

If he hasn't thought of it yet after he puts the tools away the same tray can be used to move meals around ! I added some of that no slip plastic mesh for shelfs and tool boxes plus a hole for drinks and my mother could eat where ever she felt like without the need for help or multiple trips.Later ran across a plastic tray they did the same thing more eloquently .Can't remember who sells it .  Chris

when are you going to trick it out.
im sure he would like a mft top and a few t tracks for clamping.

Wouldn't a SYS-MFT fit right on top?  That would give him a place to clamp things and some nice storage.  Might make a nice gift.
