They could easily cater to that by replacing the electrical switch with a mechanical one: a Bowden cable and a tool specific 'finger' that attaches to the tool to press the trigger when the lever on the other side of the cable is pulled. Should have no issues, as the tools already have NVR build-in.squall_line said:Safety regs. All portable tools have to move to a No-volt release (NVR) switch in the EU, and an NVR switch is not compatible with a remote on-off switch that is at the heart of the CMS system, because you would have to reset the switch on the tool for each activation.

So it's likely that we have to deal with we don't want, instead of we can't.

What anyone decides to do with a box full of parts that just so happens to become a fully functioning CMS isn't Festool's problem. [cool]
When you buy something from festool you have to buy every accessory no questions asked. Hell I’m not even sure if the saw will function without the cart.Mr Speaker said:TBH I do not really need one, but I decided I really need one. It is just so good for my purposes. I owned a Bosch table saw and got rid of it because is was just unpractical, big chunky plastic thing that did not fit right anywhere. So when i saw this, i wanted it straight away. the voice of reason held me back, but i saw one shop still selling it for the 2022 price, so I ordered one. Fittingly it will arrive after my birthday. That is is so compact is the reason I want it. I ordered it without the batteries and charger as i have plenty of those (but I took it with a free battery deal). Now if I could find a volunteer to convince me i need the cart/base... I have not ordered one of those.

I’d imagine it’s much lighter. I have the cts which is a really nice saw but it’s extremely heavy compared to other similar sawsJimH2 said:How does the tablesize compare with the SawStop compact tablesaw? I suspect the systainer size restriction makes it too small to be usable except for small parts.
