Use a DeWalt Router with Festool Guide Rail - How?

May be speaking out of turn here but would it not be easier to just by a Dewalt track that fits perfect, they really are not that much more and you have a dedicated piece of kit fit for purpose , Ebay seems to be the place to go. its very inventive adjusting fittings to suit and also satisfying when you have overcome a problem but buying adapters plus postage and even taking the time to research what bits can be used , is it worth the trouble ? The whole reason I when with Festool is that it is a system that has been designed to work with other tools in the range.
Just as a matter of information I know that  festool track saw fits perfect on Makita track as it is the same profile.

I thought of that a few weeks ago, which happened to be a few weeks after I went through this trouble.  My concern is having 5 festool tracks of different lengths and do not want or need Dewalt tracks to match.  Depending on the price I might get a 4 footer just for dadoing sheet goods and routing shorter pieces, but for long stuff I will keep using my long Festool track [eek]

This was a great thread..  Really glad it was resurrected.  I am going to look into the Micro Fence system tomorrow.  If anyone here owns the microfence system, I would love to hear how precise it slides..  how much " slop " or " play " is expected, compared to the Festool guide rail adapter ?

Thanks again ..
