I need to cut some trim in a car. I need the cut to be really straight and clean. I am new user of the Vecturo ( cordless ) and I am trying to find the best blade to do a really clean cut. Round blade? Straight Blade? Zero Set Blade? I don’t have much ability to practice this cut.

Any ideas on which blade would be appreciated.

I used a round blade with the depth stop shoe to slice the tub liner out of my bathroom.  It had a cast iron tub under it and I only nicked the porcelain once or twice.

I wasn't terribly worried about straight cuts, but I was able to keep it fairly straight once the blade was in the material. I turned the speed way down to keep melting to a minimum.

I tried a straight blade, plunge, remove, move, plunge, remove, move... It wasn't nearly as easy to keep each subsequent plunge straight with the previous one.

Again, this was removing a tub liner, so I was only trying to control depth rather than cut anything in a straight line, but I didn't want it to waver all over the place, either.

I use a Multimaster but generically I'd use a fine tooth blade, Japanese tooth if possible, slow speed and if you can clamp a straightedge, wood or metal, to guide the cut you should be fine. If you can score the cut with a knife first that will help as well.

I cut plastic with a handheld Japanese crosscut saw.

Good luck

Cut leaving a tad extra, then sand flat and clean. Will be easier with the part out of the vehicle most likely. If the plastic starts melting turn the speed down and keep it cooler possibly with high pressure air.

I have always used an air saw myself for cutting interiors up. *shrugs*
