Hope this is posting....
Using everyone's info and pics here - Thanks everyone! I managed to cobble a couple together in between all the rain here in Chicago-land! Pics are my attempt to document the build - sorry first real attempt at the build as well as the pics [unsure]
Frame is fir and the runners and end caps are cedar - wanted redwood - just could not justify the excessive cost.
I believe someone said the angle was 52 - got me started - mine ended up closer to 57 - probably because are dimensions are slightly off from one another? I used a piece of old base board trim to space the runners and tacked them temporarily in place with the new cadex - used it instead of clamps wherever I could - because it was new [cool] - then went back and drilled, countersunk and screwed.
Almost all screws are Fastcap powerheads with a few spax sprinkled in the mix, a few 3/8" x 2.5" bolts/washers/lock washers and nuts to hold the legs together -
I was going to do the ends like the other posts - straight across - for strength as well as easy assembly - the Mrs wanted the angles... So.... I stared at it for awhile now that I had not planned this - Hope the pics help explain. I managed to make them as a pseudo sub-assembly. I clamped a piece of cutoff to the end vertically and marked a cut line. Then added the boards along that and screwed them till the entire end was covered - left the last screw out on the bottom as this would latter be attached to the leg runner. Reach underneath the draw the angular cut line - Pop the assy out after removing clamps - redo lines - cut to size, pop back in and finish screws in upright and bottom. anyway - Thanks again for all your posts and helping me stumble through this [smile]
