Yes, great video...I'm getting a pair, too! I think that they'll also work well with the Inra/Woodpecker, Qwas dog parallel guides.

this what a "Google" search provided

Peter you mention at one point using a spacer to allow saw motor housing to be clear of the dog. Long term you and Veritas may consider three sizes of Parf Dogs - like a miniature, standard and large poodle - or as the thread goes through the smaller Parf Dog, a joining thread. This could be handy in other situations with different  wood and ply thickness.

As to the video, I think it is technically one of your best, increased number of shot types, cleaner audio and editing  and for me at least the download quality on U-tube did not deteriorate.

Congratulations.  [big grin]

On another matter, Carbatec the main Veritas distributer in Australia does not have them listed on their web site. But I have sent them an email. Hopefully they are getting stock?

Post Edit.

I just read the thread http://festoolownersgroup.com/festool-sales-dealer-area/parf-dogs-28465/msg282476/#msg282476 and see that Lee says Carbatec has made an order.

Congratulations Peter it looks like a useful little creation. You can't argue with the price! (here in Canada). Appreciate your time and effort in demonstrating your ideas.

Many thanks Stephen. I had quite a few microphone crackles as I moved about. I thought about over dubbing but I really wanted to get the video out as soon as I could. The Canon Legria has made a huge improvement in video quality.

I put both 'Carbatec' and 'Axminster' in the search keyword seeding when I uploaded the video. I did not mention any distributor in the video (except Lee Valley of course) as there will be more as time goes on.

Top Shelf Video Peter !  [big grin]

I like the block with the dog inside idea  [tongue]

I like the block with the dog inside idea  [tongue]   From Peter: I call them Parf Hats - maybe they should be Parf Kennels

Many thanks.

I am in the process of making a new work bench on industrial castors. There are dozens of pieces of wood and many more dozens of Domino joints to do. I have found those 'Parf Hats' really useful for reacting work during the jointing and there is no need to secure the Parf Dog from underneath as they are stable enough.

I have some other tricks up my sleeve but am sure that there will be many more brilliant ideas coming from everyone here on the FOG - I would love to hear about new ways to use the Parf Dogs.

Peter

Mine arrive on Friday.

Thanks

Michael in Murphy

Arrived on time. I will start looking for a new project.

Again, thanks Peter.

I got mine couple days ago. Most of the pieces chip off at the end. Disappointed with the quality.

????? Can't visualize what you mean. Chipping off the Parf Dogs? They are Stainless Steel. Got a picture?

thanks peter for the great video! I havent used my mft's yet, but I will open them next week. I received 3 pair of each (parf and bench) for my 3 mtf's. I wonder if I need to setup the standard mft components? you make the parf system work so well.

The various bits that make up the full MFT provide a very neat way of making cuts at any angle (rather than 90 and 45 degrees). They are also cleverly designed and made well. The only problem that I have found is that in a workshop where space is an issue those bits do take up a lot of room and this is one of the things that started me on the Parf Dog idea. I no longer use those various bits but I have found the short guide rail very useful indeed. I do think that the lever and fixed clamps are essential - I use them a lot and they are a great help.

I glued up the framework of my new mobile bench yesterday - it is a long way from finished as I have some drawers to make and the top will be designed especially to suit the Parf Dogs.

??? ??? ???

I found just the opposite to be true, and thought the quality was top notch.
