Video Review of the CTL 26 Extractor

I have your book (now), so great to see it available for kindle too! The whole CMS and OF router setup is going to have to wait for a, probably, short while, but is next on my list  [smile], just need to find a good excuse/persuasive reason to pitch the new acquisitions.

Shane / Peter (Halle) / Seth,

Here in "The Colonies", can a second outlet be added to a CT 26 by the end user as Peter (Parfitt) has done, or does it void the warranty?

Thanks, Dick

Another great video, Peter. Thanks for sharing!

As for thoughts on the diameter on the hoses. I think Festool ships with the 27mm as its the only one to fit all their tools (to my knowledge). The 36mm wont fit Rotex/dominoes. It would be pretty sad if you had only a Rotex, ordered a dust extractor, but had to get another hose for it. If I were to purchase again, I would have gotten the more expensive cleaning kit with the 36mm hose from the start.

I just started using 36mm hose, and the difference is massive (78% more area). Much easier to clean the shop for chips and other things without worrying about them getting stuck.

Many thanks Fredrick.

The 27mm hose is suitable for many of the Festool tools that people would have at the start and it makes sense that it is shipped with the CTs.

If you are buying a second (or more !) CT then it would be worth trying to do a deal with your supplier on a 36 mm hose. They might be inclined to do a swap or you may be able to get a discount on the 36mm hose if you are buying loads of other stuff. The 36 mm hose is essential for the Kapex. I mostly use the 36 mm hose with my TS and my OF2200. I think it is on a different thread but I recently reminded people about my workshop dust study....with Festool kit, properly connected to a CT, the dust levels are really low in the workshop. Sanding by hand with sandpaper and a block created the highest dust level during all of my tests.

Peter

PS

If anyone buys the book - well done and please post a review on Amazon - many thanks.

I'm a long way off another CT, my 2.5x2.5m "shop" wont need that. Its also just a hobby :)

Will buy a Domino, perhaps a CXS and a lot of accessories before getting another CT. The wish list is long

You might want to send Shane an email or PM on this question because he might miss this post  I don't see the required part on the ekat, so I would assume it would be an issue.

I think it's been confirmed before, that the additional modules are NOT available in the USA, and are not approved.

And I do not think, Peter actually did it himself. It is more like someone saying they built a house, when they are the customer, and a builder did the actual building. The additional PowerPoint is an option in UK and AUST.

I'm guessing Peter did fit the additional module himself - It comes as a separate part that you have to fit yourself (at least in the UK). You can't buy a vac with a second module pre-installed...

Jonny is right. I bought the part from Toolfest and installed it myself.

It was very easy but I have been in the electronics environment most of my life.
