Walko Workbench DRAW sign up (ON HOLD)

Nick, when did you become a lawyer?

There are significant liabilities for just about everything to do with prizes, draws, raffles, etc., ESPECIALLY when money is involved.

Your heart was in the right place, but once again, then "energizer bunny" side of your personality has run away with you. No-one did anything with the intention of hurting and/or slighting anyone in relation to this kind offer. Don't throw away your good will by getting carried away with conspiracy theories.

Can you read? I have an attorney. You know what I am deleting this is not worth my time.

DID YOU READ THE POST!!! My attorney totally approved this Ron. As it says in my post and almost everyone already knows that I contacted my attorney from the beginning. DO you actually read the posts or not.

And how the hell would you know I am not an attorney in the first place. you do not know me at all.

I am NOT the bad guy here at all thanks for your support. After all this you are going to mock me Kiss my ass.

I am the one that ate 100.00 in fees and had it out  woth google over this. Nice guys finish last not I am not going to let you dis me like that.

You have pushed me over the edge Ron. You have no clue what has happened here and are an idiot.

Energizer bunny ? I have barely posted at all in three weeks.

I only wonder why I am restricted?

What the heck did I do. Ron started it and I have no posts up that are bad in anyway, do I?

I guess this speaks for itself as I have done NOTHING compared to many here.

That's a real shame that Ron can call me an energizer bunny, but I get tossed.

I can make it easy for you Matthew I will gladly deleted every post I have ever made. If you do not want me adding my posts are worthless anyway and so are any pictures.

No warning, nothing just restrict me for no reason what so ever.

If you unrestrict me I promise to have my daughter sit here all day and delete my posts and I will never bother you again.

I contributed so much time here and you just stabbed me in the back for no reason at all. To let a guy woth 36 posts have you restrict me a guy that has given hundreds of hours to this forum is outrages.

Dude you got me banned I am not to comment on that? I made one rem,ark that I immediately erased within 120 seconds and now you are still picking on me?

nickao, I'm laughing so hard I'm worried about waking up my family.

Calm down! Take your medication!

Your dummy-spits are such great entertainment. What was the last one about? You know, the one where you stormed off in a huff, threatened to delete all your posts, started your own forum with a membership of ONE, then came back when you'd calmed down?

Just think of your blood pressure ... relax ...

I am truly sorry that this whole contest didn't work out as originally intended and has resulted in frustration to many members of this forum.  Several members came out and made very generous offers in an attempt to foster goodwill and excitement and in the end it just didn't work out.  I personally think that it is important to look at why it didn't work out in a realistic logical manner so that we can use this as postive experience and plan something for the future that can work out.  I don't know about you, but I would much rather stub my toe than cut it off.

Here is what I took away from this constructive and generous effort by others.

1.  There is a difference between a contest and a lottery.  A lottery is a form of gambling - the selling of chances.  A contest involves skill or luck but not the selling of chances.  Gambling is heavily regulated and there could be serious consequences to those involved.

2.  People have their own comfort levels as to the risk that they will take in any endevor. I've started two companies within the last eight years.  I've risked my reputation and my family's finances but others might not be willing to do the same.  Neither position is wrong.  It just is.

3.   Although it is true that a forum can't successfully exist with member participation, the forum is an entity to itself.  It started out as a tiny thought in someone's mind years ago and has grown and thrived due to the efforts of Matthew and the participation of caring posters.  Although the posters provide the information and conversation that is the essence of what we see and read, there are risks that although we think we recognize and understand, we may not.  And sometimes discussing things out in the open may not be advisable even though requested.  The ultimate buck does stop somewhere.

Earlier on in the contest I posted what some found to be a convoluted idea as how to proceed.  Towards the end in a final attempt to get this worked out I did contact Matthew privately and ran an idea past him and he gave his whole hearted endorsement to the effort and thanked me for trying.  Part of the deal was that the others involved would have to give their blessings and if anyone of them was uncomfortable then it wouldn't go forward.  It didn't go forward.  It is not important who or why, it just didn't - and I told those who would have been involved that I wouldn't have any hard feelings - and I don't.

I want to thank everyone involved in this wonderful attempt.  I don't have the skill level with my Festools that all of you have, so while you're posting great ideas and projects and helping me to learn and become a better woodworker, I'll try to come up with a way to help support this forum and say thank you in a small way to all that help to make this a great place to visit.  I know that I will continue to try to find a way to make something like this happen in the future.

Keep smiling,   ;D ;D ;D

You calm down. I am sitting here working having a great time making a fantastic piece.

All I said is if Matthew does not want me I would delete my posts, you have a problem with that? Laghing about what trying to aggravate me. I am not aggravated at all, I truly think if I am restircted my posts should be delted and that is a TON of work for Matthew, you have no clue whayt would be involved for him to do that. So I weas aoffereing , not threatening.

If people do not see you are an instigator and have not contributed squat to this forum they are blind.

And if I was all upset that makes you laugh, what kind of person are you anyway? To think that is funny shows who you are. Yes I loved this forum and I have a passion for woodworking I guess you do not care at all becasue none of this is funny in anyway at all.

The best thing that came out of this thread is "Dummy Spits". Ron I am stealing that one! LMAO

I know lets see how many people can pile on me. Roadking you find this funny also? Is this funny I must be missing something here.

The only thing I regret is calling Ron an A-hole and I intermediately erased it.

If that is what got me banned so be it. I only wish I was more harsh if I thought I would have been restricted becasue I would have gone out with a lot more than that. I mean you are hardly with me getting restricted over Ron.

I think we all know, no one gets restricted for that. SO I still wonder why? For getting an attorney to cover the give away, helping to run an excellent giveaway, collecting 50 people money and putting my Google account on the line. Because that all I have done.

Nothing in this thread is funny.  Sure isn't constructive now - it was in the past.  Now it just seems to be what I hate the most about the internet.  Anonymous cyberspace snipers hiding behind their keyboards and lobbing verbal grenades content in the fact that although they can cause real pain to others but they themselves can't be physcially hurt.

Real mature.

An altruistic offer to delete all your posts.  Don't worry about the work involved for the admin; It's trivial, really trivial, for the admin of SMF software to do what you weren't threatening.

As I said its not a threat.

And you are mistaken as even in SMF which I do know , it is a real hassle to delete all my posts because I started so many of the threads. So how do you go about deleting my posts when I started the threads. Those posts I would have left as that is mayhem and all the posts in those threads I started would make no sense.

So in SMF or Vbull it is a little more complicated than you say.

Just let this thread die or lock it. I am resigned to the fact that I am not welcome here by the persona that obviously matters. Anyone can read my posts , even the one up for less than 2 minutes and decide for themselves if I should be restricted. I do not see anything that warrants it at all. If someone else does fine, I do not see it. I only see a trol pissing off a contributor and the contributor got restricted, the total opposite of what should have happened.

I know a bunch of my friends here may defends me, please don't. I know it's hard to take sides don't. Just keep your comments off the thread. I already know who dislikes me, hates me and I also know who my supporters are. There is no sense in drawing out this thread when nothing relevant to Festools is going to be discussed. I will respond to any negative comments about me though as I am not going to say nothing. But no one else need to. If know one else dis's me, I will not post in this thread  at all. If I do get neg posts against me I sure will respond.

I have never seen a thread locked here, if one ever should be locked it should be this one. I'll be lurking around the threads that have some interest for me, but outside of responding to negs against me I really can not participate much when restricted. Since I disagree woth the label placed on me I am not going to cooperate with waiting months to get off that label. In short unrestricted me now or I just will become a lurker.

Nick, once again I detect a slight over-reaction on your part.  If we all got angry and quit over each little disagreement, this would become a very empty place.

I had voiced a thought that we were treading on potentially deep waters way back at the start.  i do not, at this time, have the time to go back and locate my post, but Matthew has done the right thing.  You are, yourself, in business and you have indicated you send your wares all over the world.  In your experience, i am sure you have been well aware that there are many ways in which one can be tripped up by their own good and best intentions.  If you are not aware, I fear you will eventually be introduced to a very precipitous experience.

This "Walko Drawing" had come about with nothing but the best intentions.  Since the whistle was blown, i have read many posts indicating how good and great the intentions were from all of us.  Had I been blessed with enough time to devote properly to the effort, i might well have jumped in with both feet with an effort to assist.  Wasn't one of the choices indicated by Henrik to send it to Tinker>>>.? I took that as a tongue in cheek humor, but was never-the-less flattered that i had been singled out.  Should I now fire back at Henrik that he was deliberately trying to get me into trouble?

No way.  I have never met the man (Henrik) face to face, but i consider him my friend.  I have read many of Matthew's posts thru the years.  I have not always agreed with him.  Nor, on the other hand, have I always disagreed with him.  The same goes with my perceptions of your own posts.  There have been many of your posts, Nick, that have been waaayyyy over the top.  I have, in fact, suggested more than once that you "calm down" as you do seem to take any remarks a tad too personal should you find your disagreement in the subject matter as presented.

In this case, until somebody can show me proof that this forum, its members, its contributors, Matthew and, yes, even you who have been collecting the money with the very best of intentions, would be held blameless under any conditions by any who might be of authority thru any audit, I, personally applaud Matthew for his late position in this matter.

I would have jumped in on this sooner, but, for the past several weeks, i have been embroiled in a very heated debate between a commission committee that I chair and a local sports group.  this has been a disagreement that has been going on for over 4 years.  sometimes the arguements have gotten quite heated. Had we all decided that such disagreement warranted walking out, the whole kids athletics situation would have been a total disaster in our town.  In this situation, i feel we might be doing Matthew and the entire forum a huge disfavor by walking away just because some feel he has been out of line.  I, for one, do not feel the need to do so just because you feel the need to show your own disfavor.  Let's think about the old indian prayer (Native American to make it politically correct) that goes to the effect: 'Before I judge a man, let me walk for twelve moons in his moccasins'  Not necessarily the exact wording, but I should be excused for not have a tape recorder on hand when it was first made known to me.  Nick, try walking in Matthew's moccasins for just a little while.

And at the same time, try to calm down >>> just a little.

Hey all, holster your guns!

I ... don't even know what to say, I think I need a little time out from this place, I am sad to see this whole circus and the draw turning into a pie throwing contest.

Take care, and stay focused on what really matters!

All the best for all the best,
Henrik
