I just purchased my first Festool Woodworking tools, I have owned many of their sanders, but the Domino 500 and a TS55 are my first 'tools'.  A little plastic bag came with the Domino with 2 little black tabs and springs.  The bag has a part number of 495 337, does anyone know what they are?

Thanks anthony

Anthony,

They are replacement paddles for the fence. I believe they are slightly different to the ones that come factory fitted, in that the offset from the centreline of the fence is different. I think they are only to be used if the offset from one side to the other is wrong. Hope that makes sense.

As Anthony says, in the User Manual, the instructions that you can install these to provide the capability to adjust only if, when testing the calibration (also in the manual) the Domino requires adjustment. My understanding is that this adjust usually isn't required. Mine was dead on out of the box. (Note: This does not appear to be the same calibration that is needed to make sure the cursor on the clear plastic window is centered. That is a second procedure that appears to be a good idea. See Paul Marcel's video on the topic.) I hope yours is perfect out of the box also. Installing these adjustable parts sounded complicated.

Thank you both for your responses.  I just used the 500 for the first time...spent about an hour getting used to it.  I made two basic bed frames and everything went well.  I really like this tool.
