Got the Sedge headlight polishing kit "blue" (it includes a finer polish in addition to the base "orange" kit). Thanks for putting that together, @Chip S. Have not tried it yet: we're still over 110º/43º and worse out in the sun
The link redirects me so I can't see it, is there some kind of sealer supplied, as I found after polishing them they didn't last real long before the UV got to them again?

I am curious to know how well this kit works for you. I used my RO90 to polish the plastic hood of a John Deere Riding Mower that was sun faded. I wet sanded first with 12 different grits and then began to polish. I was unable to get the plastic to shine completely. I ended up buying a Griots Garage orbital that has a much longer throw compared to the festool. Much to my surprise, that did the trick. I need to do the headlights on my car and the orbital I bought from griots is a 6", too large for the headlights. Good luck.
 
Believe it or not: my 4th CXS (old model with 2.6 batteries). I know, nuts... But I wanted some extra batteries and found this ad for a "Set" systainer for a price lower than 2 separate batteries would cost me. Just couldn't resist.

Owning TWO OG CXS's is the absolute minimum, IMO. I do, and have one dedicated to drilling and the other to screwing. I did get the new batteries for them, which is convenient, b/c now I have more alternates — 4 OG and 2 newer ones.
(I also own one of the new model, but hardly use it…)
 
RSC 18 after my DeWalt died yesterday. This thing is a beast and I cannot be happier with how well it works and reduces vibrations.

That's the thing that a lot of people overlook. There is a coating on them originally. Once that fails, the polishing starts. It takes a bit more work the first time, because some of it is still there. After that, you either have to seal it in some way, or get used to the idea of doing it every other year or so.

I have been using Novus products for decades. The plastic side windows of soft-top Jeeps needed it once in a while.

Once in a while...are you kidding me? I had a CJ-5 and in Minnesota winters the interior was cold, the plastic windows were always frosted over and in snow and ice, the vehicle spun easily & constantly because of its short wheelbase. That was a death trap vehicle in the winter if there was ever one...I still liked it though for some strange reason. :cool: It must have been the color. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

I have two...like others, one for drilling and one for driving...but if I stumbled on a third my hands and wrists wouldn't complain. It just feels good to use and honestly, it has more power than expected. I have no desire to "upgrade" to the CSX12 and replace the older ones.
 
Actually, it was a CJ5 with a 304 V8, I remember that well because I installed a set of Hooker headers on it. Not exactly a power-house vehicle but certainly fun to drive in the summer with the windshield down.
We seem to have quite a few coincidental parallels in past decades. My former CJ-5 was a '79, that I owned from '82 to '86. I bought it about a year before I started working at the local 4 wheel drive shop. It got a few more modifications before I sold it. I always took the top off in the summer, running just one of those canopy type shade things. Winters were always rough. The side/back windows were effectively non-functional, for those months. Cleaning was impossible and getting it warm enough to melt was only a dream. It was that beautiful metallic brown though :oops:CJ5.jpg
 
I wanted to get some metric Centrotec drills, would have preferred the style with replaceable bits, but they don't seem to make these with brad point bits. Found Festool 577396 Drill bit case BKS SYS3 D3-10 CEW on Amazon.
