What Festool Did You buy Today?

That’s on my list too... and thank you for not sharing the price, yet [blink]
I believe that the OF 1010 would cope, though with slower feed through.

I brought one of those back with me when I lived in the UK. Love it. You will need a 21mm(I think) wrench to tighten it.

Funny its the only think FT makes that requires a spindle. For the price of it you'd think there would be more uses for the spindle

Some of my orders came in. I can now start learning the LR 32 stuff hands-on!  :)

- 1400mm guide rail WITH LR 32 holes (I'm still perplexed why Festool missed the obvious marketing upsell by handing me this with my Emerald Edition TS 55, instead of a 1400mm rail with no holes.)

- Edge guide for the OF 1400

- Rail stop for the OF 1400

I'm quickly running down the Festool "rabbet" hole!

I ordered a Syslite II Set from Amazon since my local dealers only had the Syslite II. Now I'm wondering if the magnetic attachment is worth the wait.

Also pre ordered the STM 1800.

Thanks for the heads-up [member=10147]jobsworth[/member] ...I assumed the wrench for the 1400/2200 would work, boy was I wrong.  [sad]  Those wrenches are 24 mm and the router/spindle needs a 22 mm wrench. Worse yet, the 22 mm SK wrench I have is too thick to fit the collet. That makes sense as the SK wrench is designed to remove all types of tightened & rusted bolts and not just deal with router collets. I'll have to locate a thin 22 mm wrench. I'm sure Snap-On has one.

Other notes of interest, a photo of the rebating head showing that Festool balances these things at the factory...a nice touch.
[big grin]

The thickness issue with the SK wrench and the spindle nut.

[attachimg=2]

Pleasantly surprised that the full width of the rebating head can be used. I was worried that the full 30 mm width was not available for possible jointing applications.

Curious if anyone has had any issues with the table insert as it is proud of the table by .012"-.024"?

Once you attach the spindle to the cutter, I found that you can hand tighten the spindles collet to the router then use small Cresent wrench to remove.

I was also thinking of buying a cheap harbor freight wrench and grinding it down to fit. but using my method above it didnt need to. Became though bc those blades are very sharp

If done gently it doesnt damage the spindles collet. If you use a larger wrench you will round over the flats on the spindles collet and have to use something like a bench grinder to make the flats flat.
Dont ax me how I know that  [wink]

It really is a cool accessory. the blades are resharpenable though I brought extra home with me. Really shines when using it to joint boards on the CMS router table.

Bought a second hand OF 1010, MY2004
For $100  [big grin] I got a very nice router with “sticky” columns, complete with original systainer. It even came with a brand new Plug It cable. And the only part I will have to get is a new turret where one of the depth stops have broken. Soon to be teared down and overhauled.

Thanks for the info...I measured .012" on one side of the insert and .024" on the other side. I'll check mine again because the differences in height are a concern. If it's proud of the base plate, it should be the same dimension all around the insert.

I just realised, it could be the ring on the base plate of your router pinching the insert ring from behind. You could have accidentally moved the router when fastening it to the table. At least what I noticed is that the routers inner ring on the base just center over the protruding part of the insert ring.. and the protrusion is not that high..

Im homeless right now. Sold and moved out of my Calif house on the 11th. Waiting for my Az house to be finished/appraised and final inspected tentatively set for the 21st. Staying with in-laws our Stuff is in storage.

[member=10147]jobsworth[/member] - Sounds like you are almost there! Are your in laws in Az. Or Ca.? In other words are you over at the construction site supervising everyday?

No were in Las Vegas. I talk to the builder regularly. The problem were having is with the weather. Its been raining quite a bit there and one of the hold ups is getting the road to my house graded and drainage . It needs to be done and final inspected before the final on the house is done.

Well good luck! I am sure that you will be through this final stretch in no time! Congrats! I can’t wait to see your threads regarding the building of your shop and the countless projects that you will come up with!
