What Festool Did You buy Today?

Thanks [member=18038]copcarcollector[/member] , I use a shop vac with the Rockler small port connectors for small tool dust collection. Works fine for my biscuit jointer, sanders, Kreg jig, etc, just loud, no variable speed, and no tool plug in.

It will still work fine!!

Enjoy the new power cord smell...

My first Festool was a domino. I figured I'd get that and then the only other thing I craved was a TS55, well that was about two years ago and now my stack of systainers is about 12 feet tall! Be warned, it's a slippery path. As the other have said you really have to have extraction with a domino. With other tools dust extraction is nice or helps keep the cutting path clear etc but with a domino it's essential for it to work well. Enjoy.

Domino XL and 12/14 tenon assortment.

Have a bedframe project that I want to use the connectors on, and I'm also trying to expand my for-hire project capabilities to do RTA/KD work.

Bought a ETS EC 125/3 sander to try out for narrower work than my 150/5 is suited for.
Looked at the new version DTS 40O and its edge guard too. Surprised at how far away the spacing is on the guard as it sits from the sander body. But, Festool left the 'nose' or point of the Delta pad open and not enclosed by this guard while you're using it , so you can still get into corners or tight spots even with the guard mounted.... The newer Festool saws come with a locking dust port connector that fits a 27mm hose.

Thanks. I measured the I.D. right after I posted and it is 27mm and its lockable, as you said.

A smooth dust port that is sitting on my workbench has an inner diameter of 30mm and an outer diameter of 39mm.  Bosch and Fein both have tool connectors that fit the Festool dust port.

I need an adapter to step down from either 1-1/4" or 1-7/8". I'll check those sources. Thanks for the tip.

Bought PDC 18/4 Drill, BHC 18 Hammer Drill, SCA8 charger and one battery. Got that set quite easy for wallet  [smile]
Retailer had too big stock and want to get rid of some. Machines are basic versions, so they were without batteries.

I sold my big tablesaw over the weekend and am going to use my bosch 4100 and festool stuff in my 10x16 workshop.  I am new to festool and bought a domino xl 700, both systainers of dominos, the lr32 system and 2 tracks. I got a makita track saw at home depot for $300 with a coupon.
I am looking forward to making good cabinets and am leaning to getting a MFT.

I got a Centro technology Installers set...one of the last ones available. I debated, but I really like the bits from my other set and wanted to have some spares. I like the square drive bits too.

Today I pulled the trigger on a TS55 REQ.  I'm upgrading from a grizzly track saw, which was OK, but I'm kind of hooked into the system aspect of Festool now (1400, Domino 500, ETS150/3, DTS400, LR32 set, holy rail).  It probably won't be here in time for the weekend, but I'm not sure if I will be able to use it anyhow.  Also picked up the TSO rail square yesterday.  My bank account is a bit lighter, but what else am I going to spend my tax refund on?

I debated this purchase as well.  I ended up getting one about 18 months ago.  I use it and the CSX as much as any Festool product I own.

Always fun contributing to this thread :)

Finally got a T18. Wanted one forever.

I got one today too! Should be a nice compliment to my CXS and Centrotec set!

Well, Ive been bit.  And bit bad.  It s the system concept for me that makes the most sense.  I work in the shop and in the field so either one i need to be versatile and flexible both in use and in transport.  So, in addition to my existing list

Kapex, UG Stand, wings
CT22
Domino XL
TS75
ETS 125
Pro 5
MFK 700

Last week I ordered

CXS set
T18 Airstream Set
Domino 500
OF2200
SYSROCK  ;D
CTL SYS VAC
2 ratchet clamps
Another Dust Deputy
and couldn't decide between the CT MIDI and the CT 26
Ended up ordering a CT26

Then found a used MIDI that I bought used locally that had another ETS 125 for a whopping $350!

I also got a used centrotec installers kit and a set of clamping elements.
Also the fasteners sustainer with all the cool bins!!

I used to think people who bought that much were crazy!  But I gotta say, I like this club!!

And most of that is in thanks to Timothy Wilmots and his youtube channel of his new shop and system workbench and his MFTC(Big thumbs up).  After a few big jobs through my new shop, I realized where I was losing money.  Watching Tim in his shop was an AHA!! moment for me.  Sheesh...I may need a vacation after I open all those packages.  Best of luck!

Its going to be a good few months of upgrades round the shop!!

Apparently still some money left over though  [big grin]

Enjoy the new tools!

I'm placing an order before the price increase. Among other items, two new "families":

  • Domino 500 and Domino Assortment
ETS EC 150/3, Abrasive Systainer, and grits from 80 to 400

I... can't... wait!  [blink]

Many thanks to Shane. He was able to answer my questions lightening fast!
