What Festool Did You buy Today?

There is a really obvious good and bad side when using the planer with just the bag but I never really notice the difference when using it with an extractor.

New addition - the VAC SYS System Set and a box of pucks.

I use mine way more than I thought I would.  I used it the last few days actually.  I accidently left the pump on overnight too.

I'm not sure if it counts yet or not, but earlier this week I paid for the 1 STM 1800 that Woodcraft in Bloomington MN had received into stock. They'll let me pick it up on the 3rd.

I work alone and can still wrestle full sheets of 3/4 plywood onto my cutting table alone, but given my ever advancing years, 3/4 melamine is just a bit much to handle by myself repeatedly.

I picked up a RO90 and RTS400 with the systainer to carry the ro90 papers at my local Rockler today.

I had a brand I used that I thought was excellent, and still do, but I tried these Granat blocks and they're better, so I am a convert too. Funny thing, the Festool option is actually a bit cheaper, which you very rarely can say about Festool.

You should not have said that on here, they may raise the price.

Not technically a Festool purchase, since it was all Tanos branded, but my Systainer Store Mega Sale order arrived today.

Part of my purchase was a 5-pack of Sys-AZ drawers that, while not technically on sale, I had been putting off buying for a long time, hoping to snag a set off of someone on Facebook or eBay or something.

I grabbed the Centrotec driver out of the Ratchet set that I bought off another member here, hooked it to the right angle attachment from my CXS, and made short work of installing the confirmat screws into the bottom of my MW 1000. It now has 2 drawers, and I have 4 Sys-AZ drawers leftover to make my first Sys-AZ-Port, hopefully before the end of this month.

I forgot half of the rest of the stuff I grabbed from that sale until it arrived.  The 5-pack of multi-colored Sys-micros will make great stocking stuffers for my niece and nephews later this year. :)

Amazingly, managed to score a job lot of three BHS60 bit sets in micro systainers, with damaged lids, for only £20 on eBay.

They were ‘buy it now’ and I just happened to look on there just after they were listed. I thought the days of eBay bargains were long gone.

Many years ago I watched a Bosch demonstrator make a similar cut in 4x4 inch wood and hand me the resulting 2 in long dowel. With any decent saw, I think making a cut like that has more to do with the skill of the operator than the saw.

As for recent buys, I just got a ripping blade for my HK, a light saber wouldn’t make a cleaner or faster cut.

That reminds me, I also managed to find a MFK 700 EQ/B base listed on eBay a couple of weeks ago, all by itself.  The Buy it Now price eventually dropped to a point that was hard to pass up, especially considering how tight-fisted Festool is about selling just the base itself, and how proud they are of it.  Now I have all three bases for my MFK 700.  Not sure if I actually NEED the EQ/B base, but I'm still at the "better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it" stage of my life, which is a somewhat dangerous place to be.

The Energy Set, 577080...that was a steal.

I originally ordered the TSC 55 KEB bare-bones set because the batteries and the charger that were included were all of the old tech variety.  About 3 weeks later this Energy Set was offered and it was a no-brainer.

I love that they didn't even bother to make a North America insert for the kit and just left the ISC 240, DSC-AGC 18, and Syslite-Uni on there...

What's wrong with the batteries that come with the KEB? I know the charger is the TCL 6 (the energy set comes with the SCA 8 Airstream charger), but I wasn't aware that the batteries are different.

Woodcraft said that they weren't the Bluetooth version.

I think (and hope) Woodcraft may have been mistaken.

I know Festool can be sloppy with photos and detailed product descriptions, but all of the pictures on their website show the Bluetooth battery, and the product page lists the battery that comes with the set as the ASI version (which is the Bluetooth one).

I'll find out soon enough - I ordered one to replace my TS55, and it is scheduled to arrive today. (It's my first Festool cordless product, aside from the CXS). I really don't want the non-BT batteries, so if that's what it comes with, I'll probably return it and go with the base kit and the energy set.

Well I hope Festool sends you what you're expecting.  [smile]  Those Energy Sets aren't very common, although I think Tool Nut still has some for sale. I purchased mine through Woodcraft and Festool gave them a 1-day purchase window... [eek]...can't sell too many with those restrictions.  [blink]
