I got the Planex and the CTM 26 E AC vac today. Well, not really mine, but I get to play with it. And my guys.
We used to have a crappy hobbyist sander of the brand Hyundai. Cost 150 euro. It was heavy and difficult to control. The Planex on the other hand is a breeze, so light and controllable in comparison.
Surprisingly, dust control of the Hyundai was very good, it had a build in fan which blew the dust in a dust bag, and it was very effective. But the problem was you had to carry that heavy dust bag around, and build quality was very bad. I had to tape both ends of the hose the first moment I used it. Fresh out of the box, it wouldn't even stay on. And I started to find screws all over the place and the machine started to rattle quite a bit.
So I talked my client into buying a Planex with a vac instead. Found a used one on marktplaats. Total cost with all needed accessories around 1400 euro. It was brought on by our courier yesterday and I had a brief check this morning. No time to use it for real yet, too much other things to do. But it is just so light and easy to work with, and controllable, it is amazing.
Only downside is, when we're done, I have to sell it off again. Upside is, I'll probably get 1500 for it, so we've done our entire project with a first class tool for free. In comparison, the 150 euro for the Hyundai sander is just gone.

I like how you can take a section out of the Planex to make it smaller. One moment you're sanding the ceiling, the next you can work inside a tiny space like a toilet.

What it replaces.
