I'd say hepa rhymes with pepper, not hepa rhymes with reaper.

Short one such as Heppa. We used this term and the pronunciation a long time ago in the semi conductor industry where clean air and filtration was a must.

How about HEPA as in EPA?  I worked there in the late 70's right after it was formed by merging two loser agencies and sending out a request to other Govt agencies to send them 10 of their "best".  I still remember Thelma Bertha Jones, who had been sent to three different agencies as a "10 of your best"!  Now EPA is just a bunch of lawyers!
On second thought, clean air should not rhyme with EPA!
