What is your favorite Festool?

I need to add something to my previous post.  I agree with others about it being the tool I am using a the moment.  Its kinda like picking your best child.  You love them all.  I even forgot to mention my OF1010, my favorite little router of all time.  But if I had to pick one, Domino wins.  Its simply unique and opens so many options no one else offers.  Great thread.

If I was on an island, I admit it would probably be my Husqvarna chain saw  [big grin]

I'd second the TS, albeit 75 for me. The sanders have also changed my game quite a bit, RO 90 and ETS 150. Of course the Domino 500 is awesome too. Well...apparently I'm indecisive, cause the OF 1010 is pretty sweet as well. Looking forward to the big router someday soon.

Yeah. I have no answer. Nevermind.

Here are my 2 favourites:

#1: TS55R, since the new saw has a micro ajustment (for the rail), and the dust collection swivel is now more "swively"
#2: SYSLITE KAL, I use it quite often for checking the surface after sanding or if checking with a square the setup or stock

Pretty much everything i have with Festool on it is a pleasure to use and heads above the rest, from the systainers to the clamps.
And even though my baby is the ETS150/5, my brain says Domino! No other Festool or tool in general has had such an enormous impact on my possibilities and productivity.
With these, one man in his garage shop can build something that required tens of thousands of dollars in huge machines to build, only about a decade ago.
It's simple, some times my domino's save me hours of work a day, and the accuracy and quality of the joints are dead on each time.

The problem is trying to stop with one or two tools!  One Festool leads to another Festool and you still spend thousands [smile]

ETS150

But, the saw and rail system (in my case ATF55) is something I wouldn't want to give up either.

This might sound kind of weird, but of the ones I own, I think I love my "simple" OF-1400 the most. It gets tons of use and still get a grin on my face everytime I take it out and use it...

Might not technically be a tool but the FOG has probably been my favorite thing festool. I learn so much info from others about tool purchases, tricks, and techniques. It also gives me a chance to see how other people use their festool. I am a contractor by day and a woodworker for fun. Sometimes I use the festool tools so much for construction purposes that I forget that they can be used for hobbyist woodworking. The FOG users keep me reminded of the tools dual usability

Hands down, my two CT dust extractors. Without them, none of the Festool TOOLS that I own would work correctly.
My sanders would almost just ordinary. My abrasives would clog and get thrown away prematurely.
My Domino would break cutters or struggle to work correctly. My ATF55 saw would hurl out sawdust and chips like every other portable circular saw when cutting. My workpieces would suffer as well
These two vacs are the heart my my Festool system.  [big grin] [big grin] [big grin]

For me it's the entire system approach..Tying it altogether is sheer genius and it's exactly what all the other manfacturers in tool industry seem to be lacking an understanding of, if you ask me....But since I have to pick one piece of the system, it's going to have to be the dust collection in general. I was going to choose my Kapex because I worship it, and although it's awesome, truth is I could get by with any saw to make cuts. But DC has really proven to be something I can't see myself without now, a true blessing for me overall since I am always doing work in inhabited areas of the home.

TS55! i was sold immediately and wondered why i had used only a table saw back when i had my first cabinet shop... but now i see the dust extraction and MFT as central "core" tools that allow everything else to happen.

Has to be the Domino. It changes the way you think of projects.  [big grin]

CTL 26E  ;D

is anyone using festool tools without a vac? [big grin] When I bought this tool it changed my life.

I have the TS55 and ETS150/5 - and they are both my favorite.

Honestly, they are the best of their class in comparison to other brands I have used. The TS55 is amazing with plywood and even the Maple I used it on. The ETS150/5 just plowed through the glue ups I had and made the surfaces glimmer.

The FOG has a lot to answer for, it is not a tool it is a secret drug sponsored by the the various governments to get the economy back on track by getting you to spend all your hard earned money ;)

I haven't really used my tools in a couple months so I'm gonna answer this a little different.

I miss using my drills the most. Every time I pick up the T15 and CSX, I am glad I bought them. I was hesitant because of the centrotec system and how expensive they were compared to other drills, but they are awesome.

In the 4 1/2 years I have owned the TS55, it has paid for itself many times over, but for some reason I love my drills more.

Hey Vinnie welcome back you were missed
