Shinwa dial calliper, made in Schweiz! [smile], two sweet BMImeter; the two meter version is the one to have, bought a 3 for having to those occasions. I’ll most likely buy more of the two meter version as it’s light, slips into the included belt clip easily. One is already dedicated to my apron.
Love the BMI Meter, I'd keep that next to the Kapex for marking off lengths of boards. Hate using a regular tape as when you roll it on its side to get the markings next to the wood, the clip on the end of the tape slips off the edge of the board and now you have to start all over again.
That’s a good very idea Cheese.. And one of the reasons I’ve always used folding rulers on the miter saw.. These rulers are “always” 2 meter, you won’t believe have many cuts that have been made on the two meter mark.. a few years ago I learnt a new rule! Ie: Always measure the 39cm’s FIRST of a total of 239cm’s, then put the full length 2m ruler from the 39 mark... Two pencil marks too close to each other when you’re “in the flow” - nah, catastrophic.. cut again at the wrong mark.. it’s bound to happen [embarassed]
The BMI meter, especially the 3 meter version is perfect for this. (I always mark at the end of the measuring ruler or whatever I’m measuring with, leaving the number I want at the end of the clean cut stock). With the BMI one can have the full length ruler without its housing, and the housing is so light for using it half rolled too.
