Don’t know if this is still available. I’ve never been a fan of tape measures (I use folding rulers).
But this is extremely robust, and I can safely extend it to a whopping 260 cm before it drops. So most measures under 240 cm’s it can be stretched out with confidence, almost as a wooden folding rule. And it has scales on the flip side as well.

I have the 16 ft version.  I agree it's robust and the tape is easy to read. I have take measures all over my shop of various brands.  This is my favorite.  Just bought a 2nd one

Bought it last week but delivery expected today on a new 6"x48" belt/12" benchtop disc sander from Jet.

Well, that wasn't a very long wait. Went for my second cup of coffee at 7am and looked out the window to the driveway and there is the truck with the new sander coming off the back of the truck. Have it staged in the garage after moving the wifes' car out of the way and will get in assembled and placed later today.

Congrats on the Jet...
I own the JSG-6DC on a closed stand. I purchased it when I needed to fabricate 60 corbels for a friend's Victorian house. You'll enjoy the Jet and you'll be surprised how often you use it. Just keep it plugged in and readily accessible and it will get more use than you ever imagined.  [big grin]  Also pick up one of these if you don't already own one. It literally adds months to the life of the disc and belt.

Thanks Cheese, yes, I use a belt/disc sander a lot. This Jet replaces an old Palmgren Belt/Disc/Spindle sander I had used for over 15 years. The spindle quit a few eyars ago and I bought a Jet spindle sander. Now the gears are shot on the Palmgren and no parts available from them so sent it to the scrap yard. Feature I will miss on the Palmgren is the variable speed.

Yes, I use the 'erasers' to great advantage to clean sandpaper, works great.

I finally got around to dig out some pictures and a short video clip of the ratcheting action on that adjustable wrench.

Yes. Right down to the Country of Origin. (Taiwan). I know because I asked WGB where these are made, as they also manufacture tools in Germany. "Sadly" not this one. But, like Snap-On and others, they are very upfront about this and provide the information upon request/ and in their data sheets.

But overall I think your wrenches are less bulky, might be favorable over the versatility/adjustable part.

Kind regards,
Oliver

Taiwan used to make Hammer machines for Felder, until Taiwan became too expensive and Felder went to somewhere else.

I know this cos the factory is less than 5km from my extended family's place in Taiwan.

Wow I thought for your sure your wrench was made in Germany.

You'd be surprised how hard it is sometimes to get a tool "Made in Germany", while living in Germany. ... I literally live within just a double-digit mile radius from many well known and likewise many lesser known, high-quality German knife & tool manufacturers.

Yet, when I enter the closest DIY stores, with few exceptions (either DIY markets selling part of the corresponding manufacturers portfolios, or manufacturers selling directly through so called "factory outlets" on their properties), I can't buy their tools. I have to order them online, or drive triple-digit round trips to specialized stores.

Something has been and is wrong for a very long time.

But thankfully the world keeps on turning, anyway. ;)

Kind regards,
Oliver

I bought a left-handed drill holster.  I’ve used it once and the improvement in my work flow is incredible.  No more swapping hands or just setting it down in a random spot.

Well designed, easy to add/remove from belt, using a molle-esque system.  The bungee to retain it works well when you squat or sit down.

Not cheap, but worth every penny.

Nahh, the Swedes are known for nice steel. Volvo? Saab? Little rust and thick high quality steel.. No more, just as German cars, it’s going down.. Even Land Rover looks like Audi: like a piece of hand soap. [scared]

Just an afterthought, being more interested in woodworking than ever, I notice that there were made some very nice woodworking machines even here some time ago judging by pre-owned equipment for sale, also in the US; a lot.. Germany, Switzerland, Italy. Most are vanished. Or am I wrong?

Milwaukee 3 1/2" pipe cutter.  PVC or copper depending on the blade.

That's interesting, so you change out the blade for the material you're cutting?  I wonder why a single blade wouldn't work for both materials? They're both rather soft.

I like the capacity, I usually have to cut that diameter on the band saw or on the metal cold saw.

Bought a Ramset shot pin gun of Ebay, looks like new and saved $40.  I have a really good 80s Hilti buried in one of the three locations my equipment is stored.  Dug fruitlessly thru all three.  Stopped at HD to pick pins and shot, got home and realized I had picked up 27 cal instead off 22...forehead slap!

Got two small packages from Bauhaus online-shop today.

Really only needed that IP54 socket, but also got me a Matador ScrewIT screw extractor, as that is a great tool - and my better half urged me to get the wonderful, full carbide Spax 2step Drill bit (drilling and countersinking in one step, no depth-stop but highly visible marking) - which was friendly reminder, a slap to the back of my head, to finally re-build the patio. Remove the natural stone plates and re-build with wood. ...

Now you might label me pedantic, but I really can't stand what happend/ arrived today. I'm receiving two small packages from Bauhaus, both large enough to hold all three items - but yet they have to send two. (Yes, I know about efficient shipping/ stocking/ warehouse logistics and the fact that this, on paper, might be cheaper then having packed everything in one box ...)

So I got my grumpy on, already.  [unsure]

I unpack the drill bit, it was packet neatly. Everything is fine.

Then I unpack the extractor and IP 54 socket. The packaging of the extractor looks like the item was shipped, inspected and returned multiple times. (Or taken from the self service shelf, inspected and returned multiple times) The extractor was obviously dirty from all the sliding inside that packaging. Looked horrible, but alas, since it's not a gift but for my personal use, I went over the extractor with one of my Snap-On tool & hand wipes and thats ok now. Not a reason to return, but it made me even more grumpy than I already was.  [scared] [big grin]

Then I inspected the socket, the only e'ffing thing I really needed from this order. It's missing the whole actual socket/ internal assembly. They have just sent me the outer shell. So no much needed socket replacement today. Instead I had to take pictures and write a lengthy e-mail to customer support. Hopefully I can trash the empty socket, so that doesn't have to be shipped all the way back, for them to trash it. As I'm pretty sure no one goes searching for the inner part in their warehouse.  [crying]  [mad]  [big grin]  [wink]

And now for the wonderful, the fantastic, the great full carbide 2step drill bit from Spax. Rated for up to 2000 rpm which obviously compliments my Festool PDC 18/4.  [drooling] [drooling] [drooling] [drooling] [drooling] [thumbs up] [not worthy] [thumbs up]
