I've got a recently cut, 20"(dia) x 32" cherry log.  It's the lowest 32" of trunk.  Normally I'd make bowls of this but I've got too many bowls already.  I'm looking for  other ideas. Wacky or conventional.

Make some artisanal firewood!
I've been doing this for years.  Made more firewood than bowls (or anything else for that matter).

Chip it and smoke some chickens.

We have a lot of cherry orchards around here, and most of the wood is just good enough for that, given the way the trees are pruned.  I think there was a Gene Wengert column about the differences between orchard cherry trees and lumber cherry trees.  It's the same plant, but they have very different growing conditions.

Sell it to a member named [member=929]poto[/member]..... He's crazy about Cherry...... [poke]
Of course, shipping to San Diego Calif. MIGHT be pricey.....
