What to do with this.......

Hi
I have a board of English Oak left over from a table build some years back (see attachment).
So do I make another table and work with the form of the board and insert dovetail keys into any splits - I need another table for my kitchen and make a frame for it to sit on.
Second option is to cut it so I get as much timber from it as possible for use on future projects and also for turning

Hmm, that's my preference - need to convince the rest of the family!
It also is Brown so the colour is great. Will give it a skim over and post some images.

split it dead down the middle, flip one side and join to make a table or bench. if you split it, you may relieve a little of the natural cupping that's bound to occur?

It would be a shame to cut that up into bits.  If the scale of the material seems too big for what you need, why not cut some mitred returns and make a few legs like I did with this table (details here)?

Those legs almost look back cut and folded !! [wink]

I at that wood and see a throne chair. Miter the legs and fold down, use the middle as a sitting space, miter the top and fold forward as the back for the chair. Rear or bottom support I'd probably go with a couple nice stainless steel rods or maybe powder coated black so they just disappear.
As much as the table idea sounds nice, seems a bit awkward as a table. Great piece of wood to have to think about.
