what was your first festool

Mine was 2 RO 150 Rotex sanders and a CL22 vacume
Now I seem to have about 27 systainers all with great stuff in them. I don't know how it happened, or when it will end, help me someone!

I started with the RO125 and an Mini, it was July 08, I held of the festool bug for almost a year when I purchased the  ETS 125.  I have since learned that resistance is futile.

I got the TS55 last November, and picked up the CTL midi yesterday. I could of had the CTL 26 for a extra £50, but it was just to big  [big grin]

John...

The TS55, I needed a track saw in order to make straight cuts without splintering. My current saw was just not up to the task. No looking back now!  [eek]

I used it last night with my MFT/3 to square up some cabinet sides. When I was done I almost started to look around for other things to cut to have more fun... then I reminded myself it was 11pm and the family was sleeping. (One of the benefits of a basement workshop is the sound proofing!)

I started with a TS55, MFT-3, CT Midi and ETS 125 back around Labor Day, and have since added the parallel guides/extensions, an OF1010, a Kapex and a Domino.  My RO90 is preordered already from Uncle Bob, and I'm anxiously awaiting the CXS and Carvex.  That should hold me for a while (yeah, right.....lol)

Seriously, only £50 more for the 26? [eek]

The list price of the 26 in the UK is £130 more than the Midi. At that price, even if it was too big I'd have bought the 26, flogged it on eBay, then bought a Midi & pocketted the difference! [big grin]

I started with a used TS 55 that came with 2 - 1400 guide rails and 1 - 32" guide rail.  I've not looked back since. [big grin]

I got a Domino because it was unique.  I saw that Festool made all these other tools, but I didn't see how they could be worth so much.  After all, I could get a drill for 75% less, right?

Well, the Domino's great quality, etc, convinced me to give Festool's other stuff a chance.  My bank account has never forgiven me ...

I have a deja vu. I think we covered this subject before. And then we went to the second tool and the third.
But my first tool in Holland was a TS55 and the CMS table. In the USA I started again and bought a TS55 and a MINI vacuum. I had learned my lesson, no more ankle deep in saw dust.  [eek]

I considered  Ebay, but to sell it i would have to knock £50 off the list price  (then it still might not sell) About £30 postage, Ebay fees, then paypal fees, it was not worth the hassle. I also got the cleaning kit thrown in free with the Midi  [big grin]

I bought a TS55 and CT22, then returned the 55 for a 75. Love it, I also continue to add Festool
to my arenal of tools, there is peace in buying the best first and not re-buying other tools to upgrade
constantly. Thank you Festool.

i started with the trion jigsaw as it was the only tool i didnt have

then i think next was the ehl65 and vac,  then came the ts55 i think, i went in for ts55 and came out with the ts and a t15 set [big grin]

if i was buying again i would have got the jigsaw then the ts55

my first was also the trion. i needed a jigsaw. crazy enough: my second festool was a midi and i was amazed by the dust collection in combination with the trion. which obviously is not even close to what the ts saws or let alone the sanders accomplish in terms of dc. now i have the trion, the ctl midi, ts55, rotex 150 and 90, the of 1400, the domino, the mft, and the cms units for the ts, the of and the trion plus a lot of sandpaper, blades and other accessories, all of it neatly stacked and stored in systainers (in really, really cheap osb shelves because i cant afford anything fancy ^^). i spend like 10000€ in festools only. and im only 21 and this is only my hobby ^^ this is gonna be an expensive life to come...but anyways: i didnt buy all these tools cheap in the first place and then learned that quality just has its price (throwing them out and then replacing them with festools) but invested in a quality company right from the start. i also own some blue bosch (more construction/demolition type) tools and im really glad that festool made me reconsider the word "expensive".

Wow what a great bunch of answers and interesting discussions !  Seems a lot start with track saw then go crazy!  Keep um comming !

ETS125.

My dealer said I would be back for a vac.

Went home, did some sanding, and shortly thereafter got the Midi.

After that, I don't remember what came next.  Seemed that a new Festool was the perfect answer for the next upcoming project.
