Hi!

I just recieved my OF1400 today, but I'm unsure about the package contents. I have the european (bought from Denmark) version, if that has anything to say.
- Plug-it
- Router
- Dust hood
- 8mm and 12mm collets
- 24mm Wrench
- 28mm copying ring
- Chip collector
- Guide rods
- Parallell edge guide (without dust collection)

No this seems a bit wierd to me. First of all I thought it shipped with three collets, so i expected a 1/2" collet to be included. That was unfortunately not the case. Also I didnt think the parallell edge guide would be included, and if it were to be included I'd expect it to ship with the dust collector.

So what I have is a couple of bits I cant use yet because of the collets (also need 1/4"), and two parallell edge guides. I tried Googling, and all credible info I found was the setting up video from Festool where they include 3 collets and no parallell edge guide.

What came with your router?

How odd.

I got the following:

- Plug-it
- Router
- Dust hood
- 8mm & 1/2" collets (made me sell my 1/4" Trend bit set as it was cheaper to get a new set than a replacement Festool collet!)
- 24mm Wrench
- 30mm copying ring
- Chip collector
- Guide rods
- Parallel edge guide (without dust collection)

Not sure which bit of that is the dust collector that fits vertically in the box, but mine didn't come with it, and didn't notice until I bought a CT26 2 years later. I rang the dealers and without hesitation they posted one out to me free of charge.

By the way, Festool wouldn't help me directly and wanted to charge me for the missing item.

Hmm.. Seems I've got nothing to worry about :) Also I just checked with the dealer web-page and they clearly state whats included in the systainer. My bad for not checking, but I trusted the getting started video.

It makes sense to have different collets in the different regions. I'm just gonna have to order another collet then. Shame that I ordered the extra parallell fence when I dont need it. As it comes with all other OF1400 I'm gonna have a hard time selling it I guess.

I think it was Paul-Marcel that advocated getting two anyway as they can be used very effectively to "trap" the material to be routed between them - think of routing the mortice for a lock on a door for example.

See from 3:30 onwards...

I just heard from the dealer (Dorch-Danola in Denmark), and I'm impressed with their service! The guide adapter was damaged (bent screw, so I'm unable to adjust it to the rail). I'll return both the guide adapter and parallell guide, and they'll send me a new guide adapter, the 1/2" collett and additionally credit me a sum of money! :)
