What's Peter Halle's Story? (diagnosed with cancer)

Easy for him (the doctor) to say. When those stones start moving the pain is significant.
Good luck.

Sure is, I have passed three stones. Fortunately last was 14 years ago. A nursing sister, with a smile from ear to ear, said that now I know what childbirth might be like.  [eek] I couldn't agree having witnessed  a birth, but she said it with such glee.  [big grin]

My advice Kevin, which I am sure your doctor has told you, is to drink plenty of water each day.

Peter, I am glad the operation appears to have gone well. My thoughts are with you, as you recover and go on to the next phase of your treatment.

Hey Peter,

I'm late on this thread, but might have guessed, I had/have you in my thoughts and prayers. Hang in there; stay positive - all perhaps overused statements, but none the less true.

Come on back. We need you.

Bob

Although just saying thank you seems so inadequate to me right now that is all that I can offer at this point, so:  Thank you everyone!  I am home now - the Washington DC traffic was kind, and looking forward to a couple of days of naps, the FOG, and just being home.

I was told the stone(s) is/are too big that I'd be able to pass on my own or can be dissolved by drugs.  Friday I spent the whole day slogging hard staining with Penofin 90 feet of new cedar fencing.  After drinking about a gallon of water doing so during the day, finally went and offered some "Iced Tea" this time.  So it seems that my stones are causing irritation and bleeding when I'm over doing it.  I must have squated/gone up and down about a million times Friday, so I guess that the stones are cutting in in some manner and resulting in bleeding.

Not a comforting feeling regardless even knowing it is KS's, but at least it is not one of the various big C's that it could have been that I read up on on the Mayo Clinic website.

The first time it happened a few weeks ago, I was on my third or fourth Guiness after toilling days of work.  Now that was freaky indeed!  I didn't know it was actually blood as it was 'black' like the Guiness I was drinking.  "What's going on man!  Is the Guiness goin' straight thru me" I started to think while half looped.  Next morning I got really scared after reading up on the internet.  [scared]. Thank God, like I said, it turns out to be KS's!  Never thought in my life I'd ever be delighted to be told by a doctor that I have KS's!  I was ready to kiss his ugly assistant when he told me that!  [eek]. A giddy moment indeed!

(Thread semi-steal over)  [embarassed]

Did my " Thank You " contribution late last nite.  How can one not I was thinking when doing so.  Without such an individual like Peter, who knows where I'd be in this Festool journey.  This is a rare website imo, and it is people like Peter, and of course Seth and Shane, that make it one of my internet "homes".

Where would we be relying solely on the Festool user manuals?  And how inviting this forum/website is thanks to the work like someone like Peter does.  Never mind how much of a great guy you easily figure him out to be over time!  [smile]

Glad you're home so you might be able to actually sleep!??  Hospital is the worst place in the world to get any rest [eek]

Please have a nice rest, Peter... You deserve it!

Hey Peter,

Not able to frequent the FOG as much these days so surprised to hear of this news.  The amount of action on this thread says a lot about yourself; and the FOG.

Wishing you a speedy and full recovery.

Peter, I was watching your Youtube movie on using Qwas dogs for setting up the MFT, just a couple of days ago. Get well soon so you can keep on posting these excellent tutorials.

I'm pretty sure Peter would never say anything, but - being shy and inhibited as I am  [big grin] - I have no such qualms!!!

In case you hadn't thought about it, Peter's medical expenses may be covered BUT he will continue to have personal expenses that won't go away just because he can't work. That loss of income can be VERY traumatic and bothersome. And he doesn't need any MORE stress in his life right now.

Your contribution - no matter how small or large - can make his life a LOT easier and more restful during his recovery. Please take a moment to send him something if you can? The link is here:

Done and done. As the quiet kid from the back of the class on here, Peter you have taught and help me so much and dont even know. I wish you a speedy recovery so may return to doing what you love to do best as soon as possible.

Cheers

Talked with my buddy, Peter, on the phone this morning. He sounded in good spirits and like he's recovering well. He was overwhelmed and extremely appreciative of the outpouring of support for him, emotionally and monetarily.

Just more proof that the FOG is a group of great people.  [thumbs up]
