Hi all,

Anyone know where I can find the Chrome version of the LU85R010?

I went to use mine today and realized it was another casualty of my muriatic acid incident.  I know I can get the red one pretty readily but part of my healing is replacing everything that was ruined with like items :)  Plus I just like the chrome better than the Permashield.

Thanks

Bill,
Only the red blades are showing up on their website.
Charles McCracken is in management w/Freud and is a participant in our North Carolina WW'ing group and also Woodnet.  Request to talk to him at:
Freud, Inc.
218 Feld Avenue
High Point, NC 27263
(800) 334-4107
He should have info on this.

Mark,

Thanks.  I know Charles pretty well and he'll jump in if he has info since I posted it on Woodnet too.

I did find one possible source but I'm waiting to see if anyone else has any suggestions before I try to buy from there.

There was one web retailer who was selling them pretty cheap a while back but I cant remember who.

Bill,

Why do you not want to switch to the coated [red] blades from Freud?  They claim lower friction, therefore less power is required, and less buildup, therefore less cleaning is required.  Is it simply nostalgia?

Because chrome has all the same characteristics, but will stay on for the life of the blade. It's no accident that Freud's top of the line, "Industrial" blades are chrome.
