Which Cordless drill????

Count me in as another Festool fan that wonders just what application the Ti15 impact was designed for. I have to wonder if there is anyone that is really happy with their that does not think of Festool as a religion. They seem to be marketing it as a one tool to replace an impact and a drill but then switched stategy and now realize that you need a drill and the impact. The problem is that it is really poor as an impact compared to the brushless, Makita, Panasonic, etc.

Festool could make a big improvement by buying Panasonic impacts and making the battery connections match up to the Festool 14.4v aka 15v battery.

Heaven would be if Festool, Makita LXT, and Panasonic batteries were all interchangeable on the various tools.

How much time have you spent with each of these tools to make that comparison?

while they aren't interchangeable Panasonic does make the battery or the battery technology for alot of other makers and I am pretty sure they do for Makita. Not festool though

I'm very happy with Festools in general starting with a tracksaw 20+ years ago but I've been a bit disappointed in a few.

I own and use a Festool T15 and CXS. I was loaned a Ti15 for a couple weeks about the time they were introduced in the EU. I was pushed the last little bit toward buying the T15 in order to charge the batteries on the Ti15 to finish testing. It was so wimpy, I assumed the batteries were low when I received it. I suppose I could have used the 240v charger if I didn't want the excuse to buy the T15.
The T15 replaced my Makita LXT drill/driver for personal use. I also have the first LXT impact, now mostly replaced by the 3 speed brushless one. I also have LXT square drive impact wrenches. I have 8 more used in a business. When Makita changes their 3/8", and 1/2" drive impacts to brushless, I will probably buy 5 or 6. Between business and personal, I have around 20 LXT tools.

I have 3 Panasonic impacts used in a semi production basis in a business. I have two Panasonic drill/drivers and two impact drivers used in the maintenance department in a business.

I have my second cordless tool, a 7.2v Makita drill. I don't actually use it. I have 12v NiCad Bosch drill/driver and Impact Driver that needs a new home. I have a pile of Bosch 10.8v/12vMax drills, drivers, impacts, Idriver, etc. The chucked drill and one driver were both replaced for personal use by the CXS. I also have a Bosch 36v Hammer Drill set and SDS+ Rotary Hammer. I have a Milwaukee 2.4v cordless driver. I have a Dewalt 7.2v driver, unused since gettting the Bosch 10.8v/12max drivers.

I will grab the next incarnation of impact when Fes-Pro-Tool brings one out ... I'm going to stick with Festool/Protool in this tool segment  [wink]

Never thought of that up till now, that marriage might actually result in a fine impact. Fingers crossed!
