I need to buy a cordless circular saw for offsite cutting down of 8x4 boards. I have TS75, but obviously can't tote that to a suppliers yard; So I am thinking of buying a cheap non-Festool alternative that will hopefully run along my Festool 1400 Track.

Has anyone done a similar thing as this?

Metabo KS 18 LTX 57 circular saw - new 18v brushed 6.5" saw.

The Metabo looks very interesting.  Looks like it rides on the Festool/Makita guides AND the Bosch/Mafell guides.

Seems like it would be possible (easy even?) to rig up a plate that any corded or cordless saw could ride in or on and use your Festool guides.  Even rig it up for zero clearance tearout protection.

Possibly a thread on this right here on the FOG, maybe at some other forum.

Yes, EurekaZone has been doing it for nearly 20 years:http://www.eurekazone.com/Track-Saw-Systems-s/2070.htm

And now Kreg has a track and a cradle for $80.  But I was just thinking about cobbling something together from scrap.
