I'm hoping someone can add a little context and clarification to Whiteside's recommended devices (Handheld, Table, CNC) of different sized bits which to me sometimes seems contradictory. For example, I'm looking at large-ish cove and rabbet bits, both with a 3/4"R. The cove is not recommended for use with a handheld while the rabbet is recommended. Why? They both have the same size shaft and cutting radius.

I can tell you that the "no CNC" is because of the bearings. The cove vs rabbet? Maybe the diameter? The cove is 2" and the rabbet is 1 7/8". So maybe the magic number is 2"? Above that they just automatically recommend against hand-held?
