Who would buy this immediately? Cord hold for vaccum hose

In addition to the double entendre, there is an opportunity for a cleaning business too.  [big grin]

When the 12 year old Miele started dying with motor smell I tried using a CT, which I conceptually liked the idea of. The issues I encountered were:
1) The cleaning wand falls off and does not lock into the hose
2) once the unit starts moving there is not a lot to stop it, and no rubber number like on a dedicated vacuum... So it Carreras out of control.
3) The CT seems to be made to run a long time, and maybe turning the power down for sanding. It does not suck with ferocity of a house vacuum. I did not measure it, but the carpet head was noticeably slower and did not have the turbo sound at nearly the same pitch.

Ergonomically a fail with the handle end.
Utility in not destroying the furniture... questionable.
And it would not pull up much from the floor.

But I have no doubt that the housewives are impressed. My own Mrs just about fell over clutching her chest when she first saw I had three irons. When she asked about the ski wax on them she recovered quickly.

If you did the dishes, ironed and vacuumed then you have a more wholesome and moral version of the Cosby-trifecta.  [cool]

Even though I have the cords in a hose cover I may want to try it at the tool end... Or for the extra hos  [wink]

The clips probably will be good for some woodworkers; my shop set-up is different and my hose and cord go together at all time whenever I use the vac. One end is attached to a shop vac and the other to one of the Festool machines I currently have (either the DF500, or the Kapex or the sanders).

Regarding using the CT in-house (I no longer have a CT  DE), I didn't think it was a good idea in my case as the shop is always dusty and the (then) CT DE was dirty and to use it indoors it would need a lot of work to clean it first. Again, the indoor use may suit some woodworkers, but not me.

No, I won't be interested in any thing like this.

1) The design of this cord clip looks like it would catch readily on edges and the rail.
2) I certainly would not want a cord clip that needed to be fed onto the end of the hose. A removable clip is much preferred.
3) There is little reason to run two cords down a single hose, and that unused cord holder will merely serve as another object to get caught on something.

I took a punt on these exact clips. I took them off after a few days and went the cord inside the hose wrap route. The clips were OK but cords would work free on occasion and the clips would catch on edges (that just doesn't happen with hose wrap). I keep some velcro bands attached way down the hose and slide them up when I need to attach another power cord to the hose.

Nope, this looks like it would snag on everything. Definitely would not buy.

I use velcro straps every couple of feet. Works nicely and i greatly prefer it to that flexible hose wrap stuff everyone loves.

I had this idea. searched and searched the net, I could never find such thing, then did patent searches too. I feel this fills a void, is just as useful as many other things and objects we all have. Obviously others see the same.  Why isn't one for sale on the shelf with all the other stuff?  I'm pretty sure it would sell just fine. 

And I have had a bigger version on mine and they do not get caught.  This is not an insanely expensive sleeve or something I have to search out and figure out myself.  It's an off the shelf easy to go solution that works much better than you would believe, like many little products before.  If there many would buy.  Currently there is not one.

As I mentioned, not something I'd buy personally.

I have the Techflex sleeving on my main 27mm hose, and originally had the cord inside that but I found it restricted how easily the hose moved, so I removed it. So now, just like you, if I want the Plug-it cable attached now, I use Velcro straps.

Wow, changing your ID to post is a red flag to me.  I wonder how many people we have on here that post with multiple Id's?  Do they then respond to their alter-ego, supporting their product/position?  This is getting all too weird.

I wrapped the hose for my CT 22 & MIDI with Flexo, but found it was much too cumbersome for my taste. I was always fighting the hose. I purchased the Festool sleeved hoses instead and much prefer them.
The sleeve also provides a pocket in which I can keep the remote for the MAXSYS.

I ordered three. Cost $4.88 each with $9.00 set up charge. No shipping cost. Total order $23.64. Used "Print Things" but there are many choices for vendors. Shipping in 10 days. Easy sign up.

This is my dilemma; Dangling cords.. Grrrrr. I like some of the fixes discussed above.  I am next going to try the velcro system for the cords but I like this little gadget to keep track of the trailing end of the V hose. I will use this new clamp for some router jobs.

I am thinking this means new ID / new member  not old member with new ID.

The clips may be useful to some but not to others. Just like many products in the world.  The OP has come on a bit strong perhaps but no reason to have any mean spirited remarks going on in  either  direction.

Many years ago, when I thought it was important, I made up these clips from bits of left over waste pipe. Needless to say, I do not bother with clips any more. They took just a few minutes to make and cost nothing.

Cut the bits of pipe:

Many house vacuums these days, including my, have power cord integrated into the hose. No, not Festool's sleeve on top of the hose with cord tucked in. It is completely and seamlessly integrated and has one click connection of both power and suction. It is particularly common with central vacs. It also costs less than Festool regular hose. Are you listening, Festool?

The brush at the end is powered. You can also turn on/off your brush or your vac from the handle.
