Why do so many MFT users ditch the Festool fence system?

A comparable question: Why did so many drivers go from perfectly fine mid size sedans that one could look over to those gigantic trucks and suv’s that obstruct vision, use way to much resources and are lethal to pedestrians and bikers?

I have the stock fence. I don't like that there's always a rear fence in the way and it's a pain to remove it for say laying down a larger piece of plywood. I always have to re-square it so now I just keep the rear fence butted up against a pair of dogs left and right and I know it's good as long as I see it's making contact. I do the same with the front side fence, dogs on the right hand side, I remove those when I need to. The only issue with that is the rear fence needs to be in front of the dog holes so I lose room there. I thought about just using a dog hole/fence system but I know I'd have all these parts everywhere.

The festool rail system I don’t believe have changed much over the years. The hinge rail system is adequate, decent but not entirely accurate. So the OP asked why do people buy QWAS, Benchdog, TSO, woodpecker, dash-board etc. because these are better but at a price. the MFT out of the box with rail and hinge falls short IMO. Yes the woodpecker square is still made it’s quite good for checking accuracy and setting alignment.
