Will the Domino 500 fence be updated with the Domino XL indexing system?

This is probably a question best answered by someone at Festool and I guess that means me.  [huh]

I can say that I've not seen or heard anything about the indexing system from the Domino XL being adapted to the original Domino. That doesn't mean that it won't happen, but currently there's nothing that I know of that would mean that it's an imminent update.

After looking closely at the DF 700 and already being familiar with the DF 500, I would love to see the adoption of the new pin system. They are very easy to use and, as I remarked on in the review, very accurate. I have now fixed my DF 500 paddles back (using an Allen key) and they no longer get in the way.

i would like to see it as well, though i have both now so i'm not gonna switch my 500 just for that.
In fact on my first use of the 700, making doors, the mortise was either at the level of a rebate for the glass windows, or at the level of a panel groove. Rendering the pins useless because they didn't extend far enough. So i had to mark every mortise by hand. And i suspect this will be the case very often. It's certainly better now, but not not yet good enough.

While the "head" of the Domino could be swapped out easily, I'd like to see the depth gauge make it's way over to the 500. I can never seem to hit the one I'm looking for on the first try...
