Woodpecker Precision Triangles, Final Day To Order!

YOGO - what email address are you sending messages to? Try richardhummel@woodpeck.com, I believe Richard owns the company. I have emailed him a couple of times and received replies within a day.

Thanks for the information. I e-mailed the contact e-mail that they provide on their website. I guess I will try Mr. Hummel's e-mail, but one would think that the contact e-mail on a company's website would be monitored and that e-mails sent to there would get some kind of reply.

I placed a late order for a large square at the end of August. I used their 'mailroom' address. There was a 3 day delay in my first reply but I exchanged another 2 emails (in each direction) to flesh out the detail and each of these was replied to well within a day. I was dealing with mikej@woodpeck.com. I cannot fault the service so far - his replies were a model of efficiency and politeness.

Glad to hear they are willing to make more.  I got on the "stand-by" list a few weeks back, so hopefully I'll get one.

FWIW, I found the best way to get a response is to simply call them.

I've dealt with Mike a few times he's even sent me free tools to help with my box clamp problems , the issue was with me not the clamps L O L
24 hour replies every time

If you order a one time tool & have other items on the "same order" they will not ship till the order is complete  & will not send any emails until the tool is made , holding up the whole order , saves you shipping but be aware it will delay the shipping until all the tools are done .

To be more clear, they give you the option when you finalize the order.  Ship it together to save on shipping, or send it as items are available.  So you can order the one time tool on the same order with in stock items if you want.  And if you have a special request, they do have a place for special instructions on the order form (and yes, they do read them).

Richard & Michael were both very prompt with their return emails.  I'm not sure where the bottleneck is with the main mailbox, but it's not with these two.

Looks like I'll be adding two more Woodpecker tools to the family.  [big grin]

So my triangle finally arrived yesterday!  I have a question for those of you that have one.  Is it normal for the small perpendicular edge bolted to the side of the triangle to have some play in it?  It seems if I lay the triangle flat, that small piece will move up and down only (not twist).  So a vertical movement but no horizontal movement if that makes sense.  It seems like this was intended, but I wanted to check with you.

That piece should not move  independently of the triangle at all.

That piece was loose on one of mine also so I had to tighten the hex screws. Seems fine now.

Thanks guys!

@slappy - no, I ordered on 7/2, which was the day they opened this tool for ordering.  It shipped on 11/27.

1st to order & last to get one & it was a product that had issues  bummer .

Yeah they seem inconsistent over there , I ordered some whiteside bits on sale in a email weekly special  & they sent me a notice 2 weeks later that they were on back order  & it would be 3 weeks till they shipped .
I cancelled the order ,
they have world class products but the front office seems in disarray  at times  Or at least it seems to be my luck with them .
I've got several one-time-tools in their pipeline .
I asked as I am on the wait list  but it seems that if you get one  off the wait list you get a shipping notice & if not no notice .
I really wanted one of these but Ya Snooze Ya Lose  [smile]

Well, considering I just got mine, maybe there is still hope for those on the wait list.

I bought one of the small triangle sets from my local Woodcraft store.  When I got home, I noticed the "P" in "Precision Triangle" was missing on the larger triangle.  Now, if you are going to make a big deal about precision, you should probably not leave the first letter off!  I took it back to Woodcraft, and they agreed, and I got a refund.  On a positive note, I picked up the 1812 square, and it has been a great tool, and no letters were missing :)

I am also on the wait list for the large triangle, and I hope they'll have one for me.  If they don't, I am thinking about making a home made triangle out of 8020.

Ha, absolutely the same happened to me :)

Hi. Anybody in Canada get their large or not so large triangle yet?
Noticed a charge on my CC from them for about the amount of the two large triangles I purchased. I was not on the wait list for these, but did not get an email advising shipment either.......
I'm assuming they will show up in the next week or so.
Greg.

I hate back orders , pet peeve of mine , I order because I want them in a timely manner .
The one-time-tools that's a different matter I agree to wait

Got my "biggie" triangle with the wall mount. It was waiting for me on my return from Nigeria last Friday.

To be honest, I'm somewhat underwhelmed with the triangle for the price I paid, and will probably do a little more due diligence on future one-off offerings from Woodpecker before rushing to meet an order deadline.

Just one amateur's opinion. Other's may differ. [embarassed]

Frank

Well in case anyone is wondering about the shipments to Canada, both my 300 and 450mm Precision Triangles arrived yesterday, and they are very, very, nice. Looking forward to using them both.

Not sure how they send these out, either by the date you placed your order, or by region perhaps.....Just thought I'd pass it on in case other Canucks were wondering what's up, and that these are showing up in Canada.
Now I just have to wait for the squares to be manufactured and shipped!!
