Woodrave MFT Boring Template shipping tomorrow.

Nice idea to use a low-priced peg-board as a template.

I made a steel template that I am using to make my MFTs, it is small (6x6 holes) but can be used to make larger boards by moving the dogs.

I originally had done that method, but found a little play in my template, which was laser cut. I found this method with the pegboard (for me) resulted in a much more accurate top.

Forgive me if you have already answered this, but can it be adapted for my 1010? I know that it's made for the 1400.

Thanks for your time!

The OF1400 has two open screw holes on the bottom plate for mounting. I don't think there are any on the OF1010. But you may be able to attach it to a bushing ring like a 30mm. That would be the only thing I can think of. I don't own a 1010, But I will look into what I can find.

If you can attach the bushing rings like I have in the image, You can screw through the bushing. Just let me know you are ordering for a 1010, so I can send the correct plate. I just reprogrammed the the CNC and the first run of the plates can't accept the 30mm Bushing.

thanks tony!

i got my woodrave template yesterday and have tested my of1010 with the 30mm ring. it is a perfect fit. nice and tight on the the 30mm ring.  i think i'll drill some holes where the template screws into the of1010's base plate to secure the woodrave template to the 30mm ring to the router just in case tho.  not sure cuz right now, the fit is still so perfect.

would love to have an aluminum template if you ever get around to having those cnc'ed.  you got a customer here!

Glad to hear. I would secure it, because you want to keep the orientation the same when boring without the router rotating, which will help ensure more accuracy in the grid layout.  Enjoy!

So I just got around to checking the accuracy I was able to manage with this method. Between 1/64 to 1/32 depending on the length of the run. I'd say that is pretty good considering the pegboard is the way the grid is achieved. Should be good enough for the majority of things I do.
