My little workshop is getting a little crowded and I am trying to make a bit more room. I have a workbench and a MFT3. I find myself using the MFT to work on and the work bench is used for putting things on. My work bench has a carpenters vice, in which I am not sure I want to sacrifice. Has anyone else had this issue. As versatile the MFT is there is still a place for a solid vice, wonder if anyone has been able to fit a vice to the MFT.
Now the reason I am needing to make room is that I hope to get a Kapex soon  [big grin]

I added an extension to my MFT that mounts a heavy woodworking vise. It attaches to the MFT side rail on one side. I added heavy steel legs from Amazon on the other side.

I used hard maple for the extension.

The MFT is rock solid! I can saw and plane without the MFT moving at all.

I drilled a hole pattern in the extension that matches the hole pattern in the MFT. The extension is flush with the MFT top.

I did post pictures of the extension on FOG. You can search on Birdhunter as user and extension in the terms box and find the pictures.

Thanks Birdhunter that is a very clever idea. I could do something similar but removable, if you don't mind me copying your idea.
Thanks DougG for the link
