Would a 6.35mm (1/4") collet fit the nut of a 8mm collet?

Hi. I am looking to buy a 1/4" clamping collet for my new router but they are insanely expensive to buy here in Europe. I found that i can buy the collet without the nut and that of course make it cheaper. Would the 1/4" collet fit the nut of a 8mm collet? My router came with two 8mm collets which seems a bit odd.

Thanks in advance

It would probably help people reply if they knew what router you were talking about !

I believe Festool used to sell the Collets and nuts separately for the OF1010 routers, and the nuts were a standard size to fit all the collets. The situation may have been the same for the OF2000.

Most of the time when collets are sold separately from the collet nut, the nuts are interchangeable between the different size collets for that router.

[welcome]

You need to buy a bushing from 8 mm to 1/4".
Find a CMT dealer and buy CMT part no. 799.064.00
...it's less than 100,- DKK

Kind regards
Henrik

Oh sorry about the missing router info. I have the OF1010. Thanks a lot Henrik/Mange tak Henrik det havde jeg slet ikke overvejet.

Edit: I think it is supposed to come with two 8mm. Festool OF1010 normally comes with the 8mm and the 1/4" collet but not in Denmark because we apparently don't use 1/4" tools.
