Just noticed you are reading this thread.

Good to hear things are on the up and up.  [smile] [smile]

Reading AND comprehending - which wasn't so true a couple of days ago. They've stopped all of the IV pain drugs since I don't need them any more. And they're weaning me off some other so they can send me home. Not yet positive that it will happen today, but I'm hoping...

Wayne,  I just realized you are still in the hospital so don't read my response to your question for Darcy about what those big jointers were for.  [poke]

Too late!

[tongue]

BUMMER - turns out I am NATGHT (Not Able To Go Home Today).

[crying]

The doc's decided to do some more tests, along with some med changes. But it does sound like going home tomorrow is a real possibility. We shall see...

You'd better study hard tonight.  Wouldn't want you to flunk them...

I'm a latecomer to this thread.  Sorry to learn of your sojourn at the hospital, but glad they're taking care of you.  I'll pray you get home by Thanksgiving and can enjoy the holiday with family in a more hospitable (and less hospital) place.

Update:

Good news - I get to go home today and spend the weekend with family. Happy dance!

Bad news - results were not as good as expected. I need to come back next week for more tests, and discuss a plan of action.

Oh well - at least I get to have Mrs. WOW's good food tomorrow, and turkey day leftovers for several days after that!!!

[thumbs up] [thumbs up] [thumbs up]

Wayne, good news that you can spend time with family over the turkey holidays!  Home is were you need to be during the holidays!!!Hopefully, once back at the hospital, the doctor will have a good plan of action.

Have enjoyed following your posts - thanks.  Can't beat being with loved ones when not when this sort of thing happens.  Mrs Wow must be a really good cook - not a mention of getting back to your Festools  [big grin]
Take care - and look forward to reading that the Dr's have a plan...

Thanks for your kind words.

Mrs. WOW is a FANTASTIC cook. She has several award-winning concoctions:

• she makes the best wild-rice stuffing most people have ever tasted
• likewise her potato salad
• lump-free turkey gravy that she learned to make from my mom
• and a wonderfully sinful treat called a Johnny Appleseed pie - tart apples piled high and liberally sprinkled with dark chocolate morsels throughout!

She also gets rave reviews for her baked beans, and french toast.

I, BTW, make a mean Szechuan Salmon recipe.

And together we make a world-class fudge that people bug us about all year long. We make it in SIX POUND batches that disappear instantly wherever we leave them.

It's a good thing that you're reading this (at least in the USA) on a holiday dedicated to eating, huh? For you foreigners - the invite is always out to experience one of our home-cooked meals should you be visiting. Honest, I mean that!

Here's to a happy and healthy Holiday to you all, whether you drive on the right side of the road or not!

[big grin] [poke]

Hey, Wayne,
Happy Thanksgiving to you, even if you're still incarcerated in the horse-pital.  If I were in Minnesnowta, I'd be heading to your house for dinner, then out to the barn to mess with your Festools.

[big grin]

wow, glad you will at least get home for Thanksgiving dinner.  Your wife's cooking sounds like it will be well worthwhile. Just don't overdo the good fortune.

I'm not in Minnesnowta (only been to to Monstesquita in summertime), but had to go out to plow a couple of driveways this morning.  Just to build up an appetite.

Well, you may all boast about your wives culinary skills, but frankly NO ONE can touch my own epicurean masterpiece. I have spent years testing, experimenting, and finalizing the ultimate bowl of Captain Crunch.
Just the right bowl size, precise number of actual crunch bits, and most importantly, the exact amount of Silk Soy Milk and at the right temperature. [tongue]

Second to my master chef level cereal is my outstanding preparation of Ramen Noodles. Just the right water boil temperature prior to the noodles introduction, followed by precisely 3 minutes of boil time. Soup base mixed for 5 seconds and then Japanese style slurping of the product for the perfect taste!  (Oh... and the ONLY ramen noodles brand worth a hoot is Sapporo Ichiban which I have been eating for more than 50 years! [big grin])

In the meantime, my wife is baking a 16 pounder; making green-bean casserole; steaming veggies, and waiting for the in-laws to come over for our din din.  Happy Thanksgiving all....and Wayne... get your butt better soon! [smile] [wink]

Cheers,

FRank

I started reading this and wondered where it was going, Frank. I figured that if you can do woodworking AND fly a helicopter, you certainly couldn't ALSO be a master chef, could you?

:-)

As for your last comment - my butt is just fine, thank you! It's my ticker that needs to get better and I'll work on that.

Thanks for dropping by and weighing in...

A bit of good news to report...

Know how I said that the test results weren't as good as I had hoped? Well, that's STILL true. But the upside is that I am BACK IN qualifications for a stem-cell research study that I couldn't qualify for earlier because I was 'too healthy'.

The exciting thing about this is that it could be a CURE (or partial cure) for my heart issues, not just a treatment!!!

It will be a couple of weeks more before I know if I meet all of the requirements for the study. In the meantime, LOTS of tests - like several DAYS worth in the next two weeks.

I've got my fingers crossed!

Is this stem cell treatment aimed at repairing damaged heart muscle?

Hope it all turns out well in any case and that you able to get back to woodworking soon.

Wayne, outstanding!  Great news, and hope you remain qualified for the study.  We need more cures, and less treatments!  Gary
