Any Guitar Luthiers (or finishers) in the Crowd?

YOu should check out tru-oil then. LMI has a few articles posted on how to use it (www.lmii.com) if you can get past their abysmal and cheapo website implementation. Also Robbie O'brien has a youtube video on it too (Robbie is an old friend and great guy - I used to be in the Colorado Luthier's Guild with him and he teaches lutherie at Red Rocks Community College):

I was very happy with the finish it gave on this last guitar. And it definitely fits the bill for a very thin finish on the tonewoods.

I know of a grandfather clock that was built about 50 years ago out of solid brazilan rosewood and got to thinking about it a couple weeks ago, wondering what the woold would cost today.  Couldn't find much solid rosewood, but did find a set of bookmatched back panels and two side panels for making an acoustic guitar - nearly $1000!!!

Yup, that's about the average if you can find it from someone's stash. Illegal to import now
