My Carvex stopped working, and it's out of warranty. I'd rather put any repair money toward something else. I did open it up and found a black wire had come loose. I re-soldered it and it works fine.

BUT....
There's this green wire just floating in there, I can't see at all where it attached to. There's no solder on it . Can anyone help?

Shame you fixed it, would have been a good excuse to buy the only jigsaw worth buying - the Mafell  [wink]

Anyone else feel the same?  Or is it just me that thinks a piece of tape for a ground point is worthy of a Harbor Freight quality tool rather than a supposedly top quality German built one ?

Kinda makes one wonder where all the extra cost is going if it's not into the engineering, parts, and build.

Yeah, I was shocked to find a wire loose in my 'premium' tool.
I'm sure it could of tripped the circuit when using, or worse fried the electronics.
Still, it's out of warranty, so who cares

I am suprised you even got two loose wires in there. I've opened up so many tools, I can't recall ever finding loose wires like that.

That green wire on your version, seems to have a bit of a kink in it - maybe should have been a little longer, &/or taken the slightly different route?

Bottom right on my first pic, I had to solder the right wire back on

No, it's just held on that motor by the silver tape, I wonder if it's ever been attached as the tape is missing over the groove in the middle which it sits in

The green wire is not supposed to be soldered anywhere,it simply needs to touch the fields, like in the ets ec.I agree that it is not
secured in this case, even though I have never found it loose myself, but If you are the first one opening the machine, then it is strange.was the machine running smoothly or maybe
it had increased vibrations that caused the wires to loosen? Also be careful handling the big capacitor.
