Congrats to the Aussies - Michael Matthews wins a stage of the Tour de France.  Overall he has shown very well this tour, with seven top-10 finishes.

And he does it again, and is threatening to win the green jersey for best sprinter.

As long as he finishes I don't think he can lose the Green Jersey now that Kittel has abandoned.

Ouch!  Just woke up to the news.  I was looking forward to a good contest between the two of them for the rest of the race.  I thought Matthews had a chance to make up the needed time given that the mountains seem to really take it out of Kittel.  You're right - Matthews will be in green on Sunday unless he crashes out also.

I don't like it when he wins- I hate having to look at the artificially whitened gnashers in the post race interview; it's freakish. And the arrogant swagger...... and how many times can you fit the word "yeah" into a sentence (I know a lot of riders do the "yeah" thing, but he's one of the worst.
