Brooklyn Tool & Craft bench dogs

Was over at Tools for Working Wood this morning and saw these 20mm bench dogs made by Brooklyn Tool @ Craft they have on their MFT.  Decided to pick up a pair, since their low profile, large head, and the fact that you can lock them down makes them useful for all the bench planing I've been doing recently.

The diameter of the posts is the same as others -- 19.9mm -- and they rise only 5/16 above the bench surface, which as you can see in the picture is less than the short parf dogs and the qwas dogs.

The only downside is the cost.  They were $49 for a pair.

beautifully made an useful too. I can see why they cost more: a LOT more material and a LOT more machining. easily adds up but the result justifies it.

You might want to look at these veritas stops, lower (less than 1/4"), provide a wide area against your work, and less expensive.

I recently bought two pairs of them & with the import and duty added these are by far the most expensive accessories I bought recently (about USD 140 for 4). But the build quality is great.

. Those are nice, they were included in a MFT clamping  kit that Lee Valley put together in a black Systainer. I forget the price of the kit, but the items were well thought out.

Oh True, it's just that the introductory price of the whole kit was cheaper than the current price. But, that's normal... [embarassed]

The partially threaded are a perfect fit in MFT holes.  Not exactly low profile as the head is 20mm tall, but otherwise a very cost effective solution.  Not as purty as the others....
