Hello, guys,
A starting hobbyist from Lithuania is trying to find out, how to make butterfly inlays with his Festool OF1400?  What inlay kit should I get to fit my router, and can I find it in UK shops? Or only way for making those inlays is to by another router, like black&deker or trend?

thank you very much,
HM

Welcome! You have all the router you need for this. Just make a template of your shape out of thin plywood or mdf or regular stock. Get the bushing/ bit combination that works for your size, and cut away. You will still need a chisel to square up the corners.

so, looks like I should get copy ring KR-D 8,5/OF 1400 https://www.festool.com/Products/Accessories/Pages/Detail.aspx?pid=492179&name=Copying-rings-OF-1400-KR-D-8-5-OF-1400
and what kind of bit would be perfect?  does festool have something like that: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/TREND-INLAY-KIT-A-INLAY-KIT-WITH-3-2MM-CUTTER-1-4STC-/131090251103?pt=UK_Home_Garden_PowerTools_SM&hash=item1e85967d5f (didn't find separate trend bit, and no need for ring).
and last thing I should get, is butterfly inlay template http://www.rutlands.co.uk/product+t+butterfly which is kind expensive in UK :|

Use a spiral down cut bit, the smaller the better.  1/8" down spirals work good for butterfly's(most of those inlay kits require 1/8" to match the snap off ring). For the more detailed work  I use 1/16". For that small stuff I dont use my Festool router though. Not having to chisel out corners is the reason to go with a smaller bit.
