Centrotec chuck malfunction

One of my centrotec chucks does not work properly.  When the green portion is retracted to insert the bits, it has to be manually pushed back up to lock the bit in place. Has anyone else run into this?  Is there a way to fix this?

Do you have multiple Centrotec chucks so that you can observe the difference?  All  three of my Centrotec chucks are a little sticky, so that they sometimes require what you are describing (and did so right from the start).  I thought this was just the nature of things, and did not consider it a design flaw/failure, but perhaps not?

I have several centrotec chucks and none of them behave this way. I too would try some WD40.

I have another issue question though . . . . . . On my PDC the centrotec bit holder often jams into the centrotec/hex shaft of the actual drill.  Meaning that despite pressing the green part of the centrotec chuck the bit holder will not pull out. This happens after I have been screwing large screws aggressively.

It is just like I have experienced forever with small hex bits in bit holders for years. So I assumed it is normal, But thought Id ask . . . .  ..

"Does anyone else find that the bit holder can stick in their larger drills? Needing a bang or two or a severe wiggle before it becomes free?"

Thanks.

I have the same thing happen to my centrotec chuck after driving large screws.

My centrotec chuck that came with the c15 often gets stuck on the c15 and the standard holder often gets stuck in the chuck. The ones on my CXS and Ti15 are both fine and release as normal.

I Bought my drills during the Recon sale so I've not had them long.  I noticed that when swapping out chucks, I have to give a good tug to get them off and then it seems like there is a small pop that I hear right before the chuck comes off.  Being a hobbyist, I haven't used them that much, but I was thinking that maybe the tolerances are so tight that a small suction builds up as the chuck is removed.  With tolerances so precise, I guess I could see how a little bit of gunk on the chuck might cause problems.

I sometimes find the 3 jaw keyless chuck hard to remove from my PDC, it's normally when I have used it in hammer mode for drilling masonary, it's like the hammer action wedges it on.
