I have several centrotec chucks and none of them behave this way. I too would try some WD40.
I have another issue question though . . . . . . On my PDC the centrotec bit holder often jams into the centrotec/hex shaft of the actual drill. Meaning that despite pressing the green part of the centrotec chuck the bit holder will not pull out. This happens after I have been screwing large screws aggressively.
It is just like I have experienced forever with small hex bits in bit holders for years. So I assumed it is normal, But thought Id ask . . . . ..
"Does anyone else find that the bit holder can stick in their larger drills? Needing a bang or two or a severe wiggle before it becomes free?"
Thanks.
