White oak, Rubio natural, used a lot of the toys on this one. Most fun I've had in a while building something

at least consciously it's my design.... I may have seen something similar somewhere that inspired it, but until proven otherwise, I'm taking the design credit.
 
"Parts of"/ "inspired by"/ "in the style of" are all adequate design helpers. It's near impossible to do anything 100% original.
Still, it looks go no matter where it came from.
 
Nice. I love your use of loose tenon joinery. People who insist on holding off getting a Domino Joiner until its patents expire don't know what they're missing.

This oak coffee table of a similar style was built in 1954 or so in the UK by my neighbor's dad (who was about 13 or 14 years old in middle school) as his shop class project:
